So basically the Southampton bid is bollocks and this supposed quote of Wanyama saying he was in talks or whatever was made up by a Kenyan newspaper or something? :97: Don't know what to believe :smiley-laughing002:

The press in these country's do this all the time... I would not be surprised if they just completely made this up (or embellished a little) in order to stir up some interest!

The quotes used in today's newspapers are 100% fabricated - confirmed by Wanyama himself.

Won't mention the newspaper or name of writer but I talk to him quite frequently. Asked him why his newspaper went ahead with fake quotes & said it was because it ties in with what other 'sources' are telling them and that you wouldn't expect someone to make up quotes.

So they also know the quotes used are made up.

Reading back on this thread, the Southampton fan saying Cork was better than Ledley and Schneiderlin better than Wanyama, he doesnt deserve to watch football. Talks absolute *

The EPL warps their mind but mate. Most fans (many young or arrogant if older) forget how average the league was before Sky injected money. Nor do they understand that its only because SKY are British, that they are willing to pay £5 Billion+ for T.V. contracts, knowing British Joe public will pay for the *. :smiley-laughing002:

Most clubs in England have let the sky EPL years define who they are as a footballing nation.

Guys like Wanyama are too good for Southampton and yet they might just get him :87:

I think winning the big cup helped, & the way the team did it,
with style & panache. For a good few years the team were known
around the world as a true force.
    * me what number would Victor wear if he were to have a brain fart
    & land at south-who.
He might pick the year they were runners up in the milk cup.It probably won't be 67:86:
I still think he will be here at the start of the season.

Personally not worried if he goes - people are forgetting what an immense season Kayal had the season before this. He'd fill the void with no problem.

Also think its a good move for him if Southampton turn out to be his destination. They should do well this season, he'll get game time and should play 90% of their games and if we sell him for say £10-12m (£18m wont happen for a Scottish league player), he has 2 good seasons with them and moved on to a bigger club for more than Southampton paid and we have a 10-20% sell on clause, we make even more money.

I think it makes sense for all parties. Obviously I'd rather have him here but the money would be too good for us to turn down in this day and age.

are they not just going on the fabricated quotes?

    i'd be disappointed with £10m. i'd only accept £10m up front with a * load of add-ons.
