I still don't think the biggest clubs are going to trust huge amounts of money to Vic yet, call it SPL bias. I wouldnt mind if he moved to Southampton (as long as we get a huge sell clause), Wanyama and Schneiderlen will wreck teams all season and then Wanyama will move on to a Man Utd for 20 million plus.

I changed my mind about this today. 18 months seems to be the cutoff point where fees start getting lower and that would be Christmas. I now want us to keep him until Christmas for one last go at the CL group stages. Wait until after the CL qualifying rounds and if we do reach the CL group stages, sell him in January. If Man Utd or someone come in in the meantime offering £20m or so, tell them they can have him for that...in January,

Rumour £12m bid and Southampton have been talks with us for weeks over a deal.

Would want 25% sell on, if we were even considering that.

For his sake that must be a big no! Southampton is a massive step down.. He should go to a top 6 club in whatever league nothing under 15m

Don't honestly think he is that good, bullied off the ball last night for one of the Italy goals by Giacherrini who is about 5ft 6. Not to mention the fact a deal like that would never happen probably.

Personally I think going to England would be a mistake. If Vic went to a top team in Spain, Italy or Germany where he could hone his passing skills he'd be unstoppable!

yeah he was at fault for that goal but he looked really good on a lot of occasions, highly unlikely but it would be good, always rated yoshida

I just read that online, complete BS. NO chance we would accept £10M and he has two year sleft on his contract. Slap another 4/5M on there with a sell on clause then I'll wish him all the best, but to say he is worth only £1M than Alan Hutton was is beyond laughable.

That 10!mill story sound like bollocks to me a year on his contract they can't even get that right..!
If it is Southampton they have plenty money these days and will be pushing on this season I think with a few additions, they paid 12 mill for Ramirez so I'm pretty sure it won't be less for wanyama that we'd accept..
They'll finish mid to top half next season I reckon with someone like wanyama there

If it is true that Southampton are going to bid £12million, then you would have to think that is getting accepted. Over £11million profit just taking his transfer fee into account is a great bit of business. He would be a massive miss, no doubt about it, but every player has their price, and £12million won't be far off Wanyama's in my opinion.

Have to agree with this - plus the same kind of clauses we appear to be willing to eat to get Van Dijk.

If it's Southampton he's going to, then there has to be a sell-on clause for us. There's no way his career will peak there.

Plus, if he 'turned down' Villa to sign for us, why would he then move to Southampton? Surely he'll want to continue as a CL player.
