He is contracted to 2015 not 2014, as of now he has 31 months left :50:

Lennon has stated publically the bidding for Wanyama starts at £20 million.

I have no reason to disbelieve that will be the case.

Apparently Arsenal and Man United are set to bid for £20million rated Wanyama.

I think we'd have to listen if figures like £20M were being offered from clubs like United or Arsenal. If it was £12M from QPR or some other * wee club like that then we should rightly tell them to GTF.

I love Vic as much as the next man, but we couldn't turn down £20M from Man United.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is going to use the sale of Portuguese winger Nani, 26, to fund the transfers of Porto's Colombian winger James Rodriguez , 21, and Celtic's 21-year-old Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama. (BBC Quote)

Jeez he must be hoping for at least £35M for Nani then

Did Ferguson not pay something like £18m for Nani?

Not a chance in * anybody will be stupid enough to pay anything near that for Fani.

He'd need to sell Rooney to get the funds for Vic :86:

I know but would love him to stop here sign an extended contract then if he wants to go then sell and we will still get good money ....just hope we can keep him for another 12 - 18 months ...Looking at it though i think he will be off soon :54: and i dont think it will be anything like £20M more like £10M at the most !!!

We should be telling them that the bidding starts at ~£18M, he's a Champions League player with two and a half years on his contract, and we do not need to sell, we will not be lowballed. Acceptance of a bid under that kind of figure wouln't be tollerated by the support, and neither it should be.

By the by, I think he'd be perfect for what United need.

I'd love Victor to be here for a LONG time, but for some reason I get the impression that if a Man Utd came in for him - he would do everything within his power to engineer a move.

I see no reason why we should not be asking for approximately the reported £20m asking price - especially when there is so much cash floating around in England, and especially when decent players such as Axel Witsel are being whisked up for £40m ffs :56::56::56::56:

    Why shouldn't we get £20M?

He's having a great season in the CL, and getting major credit for his performances

He's young, so represents a good long term investment

He has ages left on his contract

He is never in any bother off the pitch, and seems to be a genuinely nice guy who just wants to play football

It is January, so we have all the power, and we dont need to sell for financial reasons

We have got whoever wants him over a barrel, if they don't offer enough, then fair enough, we'll keep him. It isn't like we're going to get to January the 30th and * ourselves and accept any offer.

Exactly. And it isn't only going to be Man United that is interested, so it's not like they can just name the price because no other club will want to sign him.

I think he will be away in the summer. I genuinely do not think Lennon will sell any of our top players in January unless it is for crazy money that we can't refuse, i.e £15-£20 million IMO. We could be on the verge of reaching the last 8 of the Champions League, I just don't think this team will get split up for the game in February.

In all honesty its the spl teams wont spend 20M on a player from the spl it simply wont happen.

if we could get 12M that would be a remearkable return remembering that we rebuilt our whole team with the money that mcgeddy brought in.
