Barca won't beat us at Parkhead. The best thing about tonight's performance was the fact that when we decided to pass the * ball and move forward we scared them. In the second half we had a good number of attacking moves but lost all our control and patience and wasted them stupidly.

This is good cos at home we will have more of the ball and with the loudest crowd in Europe behind us we will attack and we will beat Barca.

Butch trolling as usual I see?

Messi? Nah. Did lots but not the usual. We cancelled him out. Even on a bad day he'd beat St Mirren with just him and Danny McGrain in goals. That's not the point. We kep them out and kept them sharp at the back when going on the break. Ok it wisnae that often, but we done well.:56::50:

Here's hoping for a score draw at least then :icon_mrgreen:

If we play like we did tonight then I really can't see us failing to qualify.

I wondered that as well, but the "rule" is that you allow 30secs for a sub and with Wanyama going off with cramp then it's -

    2 subs for us = 1min.
    3 subs for Barca = 1min 30secs
    Incident with Wanyama = about 1min - 1min 30 secs.

    There's the 4 mins there.

Mate, my heid's puggled right noo. Don't confuse me :56:

That is true Mr Venglos. But lets no kid ourselves on, they are no Barcelona. We have some very good players. And against both these teams we will have a lot more of the ball. A wasnt impressed with Benfica at parkhead, or at Spartik. We could get a point there. As for Spartik, it would be stupid of us not to beleive we couldn't beat them at home after beating them up in there own back yard especially with our crowd behind us:50:

Thanks. *, wanted to get them while they were still weak at the back an vulnerable to set plays.

I have a horrible feeling that goal might end up costing us qualification in the end, that's not to say I'm not immensely proud of the team tonight. Would never have dreamed of a last 16 place to begin with so the fact we are right in the hunt for one is incredible, think some people need to temper their expectations a wee bit about the next three games though.

Was a pretty horrific injury as well. I would have thought he would be a bit more than 1-2 weeks away so I'm hoping for 3 :icon_mrgreen:

Iniesta' goal tonight was like something off FIFA. Supporters and the club as a whole Barca are a class act

if we are not able to string 5 passes together why worry about this result. or what any other team do, but for what i saw it looked as if there
was only half a pitch :celt_2:

Ii got the feeling at times hooper could have put more effort in, chase the lost cause. 1 ball through which didn't go out he jogged for it not even challenging the defender? He could have a least rattled the ball off the defender and one a throw or a corner. Just had to get that out, is it just me.

I wouldn't normally be too bothered, but what did the barca players, manager and supporters make of celtic tonight? Like did they mention anything in interviews? One thing for sure after tonight, teams will no longer write us off before a ball has been kicked after that performance tonight.

Shocking and they kept replaying it too...Surprises me as well how some footballers return as fast as they do...We need him though, our defending has been shambolic

I am with you on all of that :50: There is no divergence of opinion, still I am naturally cautious of teams of these caliber, and I am concerned about Samaras's injury and how long he will be out for, as if there is one player who is virtually irreplaceable in the role he plays it is Samaras, his height, strength and speed are practically very hard to duplicate in the team.If Samaras is fit for the Barcelona game we have a better chance. Our problem in the first half was getting the ball to stick upfront for any length of time, and in the second half after Samaras went of injured, the team visibly faded, and they scored almost immediately so Samaras is our talisman. Still we could play Commons or maybe Lassad or even McGeouch if necessary there.
