Yet you don't find it bizarre someone could think Sopranos is on the same level as Breaking Bad?:smiley-laughing002:

Is good a show it was, and it was great. It's not on Breaking Bad level, no chance. The Sopranos had way to many boring episodes to be considered up there with it.. It had a great ending but not an amazing one, like Breaking Bad.

Prison Break was highly addictive, and always finished with a cliffhanger leaving you choking to see the next one. You may not have like the 3rd and 4th season but i thought they were still great. Many did that's why its rated so high.

The Sopranos never had a season as good as the 1st season of Prison Break, not even close imo.

If you're basing it purely on excitement and action, which is fair enough then I can see why you'd prefer Breaking Bad or Prison Break. But in terms of writing, acting, character development and the story line in general then I'd say Sopranos is miles ahead of them. Could list about 20 characters in the Sopranos who if you took away, the show would lose something, dont think you could say the same for PB or BB.

I think there are about 2 'boring' episodes in The Sopranos, out of 86 altogether. I can think of a couple in BB (the * fly episode), and also found season one a bit slow, and BB had about 20 less episodes altogether than the Sopranos.

It really depends on what you like yourself in a TV show. I think if I was basing it purely on suspense and excitement I would go with the first two seasons of Prison Break, they were incredible, would plan to watch 2-3 episodes at tops and would watch about 7 :smiley-laughing002: I thought season 3-4 were still decent but way too far-fetched, another thing I prefer about The Sopranos to both PB and BB, it is more realistic.

Sopranos worst episode is probably 10x better than Prison Breaks best tbh.

Many didn't and that's why it's not normally considered along with the likes of Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones, The Wire, The Sopranos etc. And also why it was cancelled and they had to wrap the story up with that "final break in" special or whatever it was called. Those shows had an arc and followed it through to the end (except Game Of Thrones but it has a pretty clear end point set out and has for a while). With Prison Break they kept coming up with increasingly painful twists to keep the story going as long as possible. It was just awfully written.

To me it doesn't matter how exciting or suspenseful it is as long as it's well written, and I'd take the early episodes of Breaking Bad that are brilliantly written but don't have the fast pace of the later seasons, over Prison Break bringing back yet another dead character under the pretense of "cliffhangers".

No sure who your trying to convince me or yourself:smiley-laughing002: I think if you google Prison Break you'll see fine well its highly rated. I'm honestly baffled that you don't care for a tv show that is exciting or suspenseful as long as it is well written. Suspense and exciting is what i want as well as good writing. But being well written is last on my list as long as I'm enjoying the show.

I agree The Sopranos was better written than Prison Break, but not up there with the likes of Breaking Bad and Game Of Thrones when it comes to well written shows.

But Prison Break was more exciting and more suspenful.

    Prison Break 2 The Sopranos 1 :86:

Really? Common, you obviously have a dislike for PB if you think such a thing:smiley-laughing002: Be honest, Prison Break season 1 is better than any season of The Sopranos. It was excellently written, very exciting and hugely suspenseful.

Even if you don't think its a better show, that above is true.

I loved the first two seasons. Think Sopranos is in a different league though.

What season of The Sopranos was better than Prison Breaks first season? I've watched The Sopranos twice and there isn't one.

I'd say any of them :smiley-laughing002:

Season 3 is probably my favourite though.

Season 3 had the Pines episode of Paulie and Christopher chasing the Russian, what a funny episode that was:smiley-laughing002:

It was a great consistent tv show. But not one season blew me away like Prison Breaks first season. I've said on here many times, its the best season of any tv show!

Would you say Breaking Bad is in a different league of its own compared to The Sopranos?

Probably would, will never see anything like Breaking Bad again...could say the same about Sopranos and Prison Break right enough :smiley-laughing002:

All down to personal taste, for me House is the best show... i know it's not on the same level as a lot of others but i think it's brilliant. Same with The Shield which i prefer to Breaking Bad.

It is down to personal taste everybody is different:50: i think Breaking Bad is the best but that's all I know. I really can't pick a second best, to many great ones. Even shows like Z Nation(zombie tv show) that is not to greatly written, and can be daft as *, yet i still enjoy the * out it:smiley-laughing002:

Hey!! In the other thread you rated The Shield as your new favourite:54:

Season 1 of Prison Break was very, very good

But there's maybe 10 other shows that were better imo

Season 1 of Heroes was just as good, if not better

Lost at its best was probably better as well

Not to mention all the others

Canny mind if i done that in order. When i finished with The Shield i was blown away with it
    like Lem.
and probably was my favourite at the time. I'm on my 4th time watching House though... which i can't see myself doing with any other show.

I watched Heroes myself. Only the first season then didn't bother with the rest. Good first season but not on a par with PB first season:smiley-laughing002:

Lost at its best is better than 99% of tv shows for me.

Prison Break 1st's season was good but a lot of it was down to suspense, which was stupid as you knew they weren't going to get caught until right at the end

Then a bad guy would chase them, until the next season when they became good guys

I'm pretty sure that happened in every season

It's all about personal tastes obviously but I wouldn't consider Prison Break one of the best American dramas. Same goes for The Walking Dead actually, as much as I enjoyed the two of them. Well apart from Prison Break by the end obviously.

Just watched the first episode of Prison Break. Decent.

Although the main guy is annoying me with how smug he looks.:smiley-laughing002:

Talk about a giving away a spoiler in the first paragraphs:smiley-laughing002: The lad above just started the programme aswell:smiley-laughing002:

As you say we all have different taste. You yourself said Arrested Development was hilarious. I watched the first 5 episodes and found nothing funny about it at all. Then stopped watching.

Although I have since bought the first three seasons to try again. So I may change my mind on that:smiley-laughing002:

Thought one of the best characters was hector Salamanca and all he did was sit in a wheel chair and ring a bell whilst looking extremely * off
