Dunno seems like it could be a bit of a waste to me.Cost a lot to build and maintain it too_Our attendance seems to be an average of what 55 thousand obviously excepting CL and Huns matches so you would wonder if there is any need for it.

Didn't Quinn say a few months back that they have looked at this but it's anon starter

Maybe the fact that it's a Listed Building has some effect on the decision not to rebuild it.

Jeezus this has been done to death. With attendances flattening out and many empty seats at SPL games, and the team requiring major investment. It doesn't take a genuis to work out the answer.

Its the school which is listed but I think thats going to knocked down...But with the likes of liverpool, arsenal, everton expanding its a must we must expand for an ego boost if anything

I would throw money at a share issue to rebuild it:celt_2: :shamrock:

The stadium is designed so the option of building on top of the south stand is there. As you say though whats the point when the stadium isnt being filled as it is

    Crowds simply don't warrant it.

Liverpool, Arsnel and Everton will be expanding because they have the money to do so and they fill out their stadiums week in week out. We don't have the money and never fill out our stadium except for obvious games (Europe and Old Firm) so their would be no point. It would just make us look worse, a massive 70,000 seat stadium and only 50,000 turning up.

Nope, far from saying that. I'm just saying that Everton, Arsenal and Liverpool can all increase their stadiums if they want. The point I was making is the fact that we don't fill our stadiums except maybe around 13 games a season so an increase would be pointless.

The stand is not a listed building
it was talked about earlier this season but the board dont see the need for it to be done for the forseable future, ffs we can barely get a full crowd to turn up as it is.

one day yes it will be done but not for at least another 6 years

Yeah but Celtics are probably joining the EPL in the future as we're in the UK & therefore part of England, the attendances of many more hundreds of kilt wearing Mel Gibson lookalikes (Americans with Australian passports) will swell the South Stand to burstin point.

We really need to do this now before Celtics are banded alongside other crap clubs like Liverpool, Man Utd, Spurs & Villa.

Anyway thats what I heard from the funniest man on earth.

If we are going to spend money on the ground then it should be to renovate it. Its a mess to look at inside. All those pipes and the ventilation system should be covered up. Its an eyesore.

I reckon fans of the above would argue that that is the case. We're a very big fish in a very small pond.

But have none of yous considered that the reason people sometimes don't go to a celtic game is becuase they think it will be full and don't want to make the long jorney for nothing.

Increasing the capacity would deal with that problem

If they sort out a decent direct Transport link to the ground to make it easier for fans to get to and from games then attendences would pick up i'm sure of it. Shame they closed down Parkhead Stadium Station in the 60s.

Maybe if Glasgow get's the Commonwealth games in in 2014 they'l sort it out.

But you gotta figure at least 20 people won't call because of the hassle at least probably more.
