Tough, tough game, Spartak are arguably a better side than when we last faced them under Strachan, the current Celtic team is more talented than that Celtic side but whether they are a better European team is still in doubt.

4-2-3-1 is the formation i would go with. Big question about centre backs for me, Wilson and Mulgrew or Wilson and Ambrose with Mulgrew in midfield?

    I would go:

    Forster
    Matthews Wilson Mulgrew Izzy
    Wanyama Ambrose
    Brown Commons Samaras
    Hooper

Tough decision in midfield, do we play ambrose with big Vic for that extra crunch in the tackle and a bit of class, or have Ledley or Kayal in there who we know will rise to the occasion but are they 100% fit.

Hard decisions for lenny but at least with this game we are thinking who are we going to play rather than scraping the barrel to fill the midfield now that our injury problems are looking brighter.

wouldent say there was much of an improvement, even though we where playing 10 men when our:celt_2: subs got on today, so a CHANGE
might be needed, in the attacking formation, ball players always get a chance at goal.

    Forster

    Matthews Rogne Ambrose Mulgrew

    Wanyama

    Brown Kayal Ledley Samaras

    Hooper

    Subs:

    Zaluska.
    Wilson.
    Watt.
    Forrest.
    Lustig.
    Commons.
    Miku.

I'd love an away victory, but I can see it being a close game of few clear cut chances.

1-1 draw, but I'll be praying that the Bhoys can somehow pull off a famous win on the road :50:

I honestly think we can take something from this game, will be a tough encounter but if the players are at the top of their game then we have a chance of getting a draw.

got a feeling we'll sneak a win but a draw would be a good result.

I had a dream last night that we played Spartak, but it was the home game at Paradise, as opposed to the match on Tuesday. Scott Brown scored from a Charlie Mulgrew corner, although it took a little deflection on the way in.

I don't know the final score, as I think I woke up shortly after, but Spartak never got an equaliser anyway :icon_mrgreen:

Class dream but. I don't see why we can't win or at least secure a draw. Benfica are placed thirteenth on the UEFA club rankings whilst Spartak are place 54.

Well, obviously. But most people would surely say that Benfica were a stronger side and more of a threat to us than Spartak, wouldn't they?

Yes but we played Benfica on our own patch. We're playing Spartak in Russia.
