Happy to get a point, dissapointed we didn't create many chances but they didn't create anything either, I thought Brown was outstanding

Aye agreed, Strachan had Artmedia and 0-0 with Aalborg. O'Neill had losing 1-0 to a mediocre Anderlecht team who were down to 10 men for an hour of the match. Everything considered, this is a good result, something to build upon.

What to make of the result

I don't know what to make of this result to be honest I keep tellin myself it's a new team 10 first team players first time in the CL but I can't shake the feeling this may come back to haunt us. I think maybe we should be winning our home games dont you?

Maybe we are missing the zombies ..... On Saturday I was hurting but not as much as I would have been if the huns were breathing down our neck and maybe this has filtered into the team and you cannot turn form on and off like fosset I don't what too make of it.

This in IMO was our easiest tie of the group spartak are solid and barca need no words so is this a bad result or can we change this group in our favour he was right to drop hopper but did it cost is ?

Aye, those 7,000 empty seats were very noticeable on the TV tonight, even though the CL packages sold out weeks ago. * idiots.

That's a pretty blatant lie on their behalf, surely.

Looked much more than that to me.

Anyway, couple of points. We played pretty well. Brown was * immense.
    Other point.....their goalie was a *.

10 players made their CL debut tonight, against an experienced side missing 4 key players I thought we coped well without ever threatening. Have a look at tonight and Saturdays performance and we know what we can do.

This team is serving an apprenticeship in the CL just like any other newly assembled team. A draw is no disgrace and sets them up nicely for the rest of the group games.

Judge them at the end of this campaign.

What does the absence of the scum have to do with our CL campaign? Are you trying to tell me that the presence of Rangers (old club version) somehow motivated us in the past to beat teams like Juventus, Man United, AC Milan and Barcelona at Parkhead?

I'll tell you what to make of the result; we were missing four key players tonight, up against quality opposition and with 10 players in the starting XI making their CL group stage debuts. Tonight was also our fifth consecutive clean sheet in European competiton. Like I said in the match thread, that's a stat for any club to be proud of.

People are acting like we lost. Benfica are top of the Portuguese league right now and finished top of their group last season, which also included Man United. We dominated them possession wise for long spells and the only thing lacking was a cutting edge up front. I'm guessing this was partly due to the absence of players such as Samaras and Stokes, not to mention Hooper carrying a knock.

No way, full house for me.

I understand a FH in the CL is some way short of 60k but not that much.

No one would argue if you said you were disappointed with the result. It could have been better. But you need to take everything into consideration. We were missing our star European man. Our average age was 23. 10 (plus subs) CL debutantes. We are the underdogs as we're the cheapest, youngest most inexperienced side on and off the park in our group.

Think we will do better next time now that the debuts are out the way.

A clean sheet against a team top of the portugese league and we also maintained our European home record.

    Not bad:50::50:

Forster - 7 - Made two important mini saves, otherwise quiet game.
Matthews - 7 - Had some good runs back to defend, but no added creativity.
Lustig - 7 - Solid in defence again, had a good game, but should do better with his headers on goal!
Wilson- 7.5 - Brilliant again, did everything right. And that time you thought he was going to give it away..what does he do? Calmly keeps it at his feet and didn't look pressured in the slightest.
Izzaguirre- 4.5 - Poor game, was outmuscled on the ball and never really got forward.
Mulgrew- 6.5 - Jekyll and Hyde performance. Opted for the pass back than forward
Forrest- 5.5 - Like Izzy, outmuscled and weak on ball, poor touches and i recall him only beating his man once. Not his best game today. Should have perhaps been replaced in 2nd half.
Brown- 9.5 - Like a man possessed. Unstoppable.
Wanyama- 8 - Brilliant game, natural and like Brown fought for everything.
Commons- 7 Probably the Celtic player who was most on the ball. THink he missed having hooper there with him.
Miku- 7 Held up the ball well, nice touches but didn't get the service.
