    HOPING THIS IS BS

THOMAS ROGNE last night revealed he’s unhappy with the new deal Celtic have offered him.

The Hoops stopper’s contract runs out next summer meaning he could sign for a new club in January — and the Norwegian is less than impressed with the terms on the table.
Rogne said: “It’s really frustrating. I thrive at Celtic and definitely want to stay, but the salary will have to reflect my value. I have played when I have been healthy and feel I should be paid like the others in the team.
“But this deal is much worse and I don’t require too much to stay.”
Rogne, 22, was one of the players boss Neil Lennon wanted to reward after he helped the club reach the Champions League.
Talks over a new deal have been on-going for months now, but no deal has yet been struck.
Meanwhile, Celtic new boy Efe Ambrose can’t wait to play for Nigeria in an Africa Cup of Nations grudge match.
The first leg of the play-off in Liberia on Sunday has been overshadowed by a remarkable ‘Operation Crush Nigeria’ campaign by Liberian PRESIDENT Ellen Sirleaf-Johnson.
That has prompted Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan to call head coach Stephen Keshi to demand a win.
Ambrose said: “I know Liberia’s President is behind them, but our motive is not only to win there, but to secure our qualification before the return leg.”

Strange I remember reading an article not too long ago where Lenny was saying he was going to offer Rogne, among other players, more money with the money we got from the Champions league qualification.

    * sake.

Shocking to be in this situation again with important players being allowed into the final year of their contract. You'd think lessons would have been learned.

hmm, Rogne doesn't seem the type to run his mouth about * like this.
I'm more than positive that he'll be a Celtic player for a few more years.

In saying that, if he does feel unhappy with the offer, he must realise that he, since being a Celtic player, has been injured more than not. Imo he has the potential to be a really amazing defender and hopefully Celtic great and personally don't think there is much to worry about.

It's The Sun. So naturally it should always be assumed to be bullshit until direct quotes are used. Unfortunately this article has direct quotes, but they could always have been taken out of context.

It's far from a "row" though is it. He will just want a substantial raise for being a regular now, and he deserves it. Sensationalised negativity from the finest red top as per.

Get him signed up! Bhoys a class defender, It's took us long enough to find a good CB, let's not lose him on a free.

Really hope this gets sorted soon, he's shown he has what it takes and is definitely a player to keep, one of rare positives from Mowbray era.

Well tbf Kayal has been out for large chunks at the time as well and that hasn't stopped us from giving him a new lucrative deal (I know that's not exactly the same situation, just saying).

Hope that this is just BS, as is most crap that comes from the Sun... about as reliable as hiking boots made of cardboard. Really hope that Rogne gets a new deal & is around for a few more years. Over the past couple of seasons our team has functioned at it's best in a defensive capacity when Rogne & Mulgrew have been at partnered at the back.

I'm confident this is BS. No doubt quotes will have been twisted/taken out of context. Until a credible source reports this I'll maintain it's crap.

Rogne has always struck me as a very sound and intelligent guy, and unlike people like Wanyama and Hooper there's been no talk of a big move away for Rogne so I can't see why he'd be angling for a transfer.

If he wants more money that's fair enough. The one downside with CL footy is everybody knows we have cash now!

I know what you mean. If Rogne were fit he'd be first choice. Classy defender and reminds me of Reiper in certain ways. Not like for like but his calmness and reading of the game. If he can be even half as good we've got a star.

It's just a * situation and for me shouldn't have got this far. Lad might have injury problems, but always seems to be wee niggly feckers.
I want Rogne to reach his potential here.

Thomas should focus on keeping himself healthy and getting a full season under his belt, before complaining about his wages.

Less than 50 appearances while at a club for 4 seasons, says it all.
