Reminds me of Lucio the way he moves forward with the ball.

Still makes me nervous at times but he is still young and we could iron out any creases. Could become great for us.

The main thing that annoys me with this guy is that he can't put the ball in the back of the net from 4 feet. And yesterday was not the first time this season.

I thought he was excellent yesterday. Thought Forster had probably his worst game, he should have been out quicker at the goal and at the one Ambrose shielded it for him to come for and he never even came off his line, 2 poor bits in one game, unlike him.

I thought he played well yesterday and hardly noticed big Vic was playing.

His best position is with Wilson at the back.

Didnt like that they were separated yesterday they are working well together.

He can play mid but i think he is much better at the back.

I agree. Ambrose looks more and more jittery the further up the pitch he goes - and he's one of our most composed players in defence.

I think Ambrose isn't used to the rough and tumble of the SPL yet; which makes him suspect at the back sometimes. Crucially though he has made no real errors that have lead to any goals against us; Hibs goal yesterday if he was in Rogne's position would not have happened.

I think where his class shows is in the Champions League where his style is perfectly suited to the European style of football; his pace and power and excellent timed challenges as well as his composure to get us playing out from the back has really got us out of some holes in Europe this year.

Once he gets used to how to use his body to better use in the SPL then he will shine even brighter than he already has done. Don't forget he is still quite young (23) spending his first season out of a league he has come accustomed to in Israel to a vastly different, more rough and tumble league in the SPL. He has handled that admirably so far but you can tell he is still caught out by not being an experienced SPL player sometimes.

I agree that Hibs' goal wouldn't have happened if Ambrose had been there instead of Rogne.

I also think that whatever nervousness Ambrose shows can be easily sorted out on the training ground and does not represent any sort of inherent weakness.

You saying he is 23 is a good reminder, and he seems a lot older at times - maybe unfairly so in terms of how we criticise him.

I think his problem is the opposite of nervousness; he's never * nervous. There's times he just needs to put his foot through the ball. Yesterday, 5 yards away from our goal, under pressure from a Hibs player is one of them.

We also need to work on him picking forward passes. He will become an absolute invaluable weapon to have if he does so.

I never mind his jaunts forward when he does so Big Vic just fills in his position; as he did when Charlie Mulgrew done so.

I know what you mean... he doesn't take risks when he should.

I am always struck by how... out of place... Ambrose seems when he is in the centre of the pitch. He thrives in defence but doesn't seem a naturally attacking player no matter how much he is pushed into an attacking or feeding role.

He is blessed with an ability to shape his body so he just breezes by players, he doesn't seem to know what to do with the ball after breezing by them though There was one point yesterday I thought he was just going to keep beating players until he run into the net; think McPake had had enough of that and snapped him though.

    That was a fantastic run.

Like I said, he can run the length of the pitch but then suddenly realises he's far from defence and just looks lost.
