You clearly didn't watch The defeat to Kilmarnock. He was son poor in the air tonight and gave away possession too easily. I think he's always going to be one match away from a bombscare.

Didn't think he was that bad to be honest, had a few * moments but apart from that wasn't at fault for any of the goals we conceded and at times looked like our most composed player on the ball.

Not his best game but certainly he wasn't bad.

He is at fault for the second. Look at it again

I dont think hes a ever a defender in his puff

at least I think hes a natural midfielder and could maybe backup in defence

    Exactly.

Ambrose has had a pretty decent start to his career with us and I'm not gonna shoot him down just because he had a below average game against Benfica and Kilmarnock (where everyone was pretty bad from what I remember).

For me, I think he just needs to learn when to pass to another player a bit more. He seems pretty comfy on the ball but just a few times tonight he took it a bit too far and lost it. He can do the mazy dribbles against the other teams in the SPL but needs to learn to sometimes keep it simple against the likes of Benfica.

Still a very promising player in my opinion :50:

A couple of bad games don't make him a bad player. For the most part he's been excellent!

    I would agree with yourself.

I reckon tonight he actually tired himself out with the ammount of running he done going by three players to go back to where he was originally and playing the simple pass. I can see Lennon playing him in the midfield in place of Wanyama for the Spartak game.

We had a team of just over £6m.

They bought one player for over £10m. We are coping well.

    Agree.

He's had a couple of dodgy performances this season but the good ones far outweigh the bad ones.

Who knows to be honest. Ambrose definitely likes to take the ball for a run and get forward so maybe he can go into the midfield alongside Kayal with Mulgrew back at CD along with Wilson? Ledley out on the left and Hooper up front with Samaras in just behind him?

Either way hopefully Ambrose has an absolute belter of a match in two weeks along with the rest of the players so we can celebrate being in the last 16 :50:

I don't care what anyone says, Ambrose was horrific last night. He stood out as he somehow managed to be even worse than the rest of them, it's nothing too do with being a scapegoat like some people are saying.

Very strange that some are saying he was our worst player without and doubt, yet some saying he was the MOTM!!!:56:

Would rather Rogne was playing at the back.

Don't think he should play cb, play him as a holding midfielder and play Rogne alongside Wilson

This is the usual, people looking for a scapegoat. Ambrose has been absolutely fantastic since he signed for us. He wasn't at fault for the second goal, he was beaten in the air by a big guy who had a run on him, it happens.

I like what I've seen of Ambrose since he joined. The only issue I have with him is that he runs with the ball more often than I'm comfortable with. Last night we lost the battle in midfield and lacked any urgency when going forward. I think Ambrose was just trying to force the issue a bit.
