Its brilliant for us that they've lost their best two midfielders and haven't been able to replace them. I think we were better than Spartak anyway but in all honesty I think 12 points is genuinely achievable now that Benfica are weaker.

:56: Will be solid to get that but I wouldnt totally write it off.

Us, Benfica and Spartak are fairly evenly matched.

    Forster
    Matthews Luisao Mulgrew Izaguirre
    McGeady Romulo Kayal Salvio
    Emenike Cardozo

Not a lot between the players though like Matthews and Pereira. Mulgrew, Garay, Insurralde and Pareja. McGeady, Salvio and Gaitan. Romulo, Ledley, Kayal, Wanyama, Carioca, De Zeeuw and Kallstrom. Or Cardozo, Rodrigo, Emenike, Welliton, Ari, Hooper and probably Miku or Lassad.

Anything could happen in our Group imo. We could get 0 points or 9/10/12. The games between us 3 should be close.

Aimar is still a quality player he ran the show at old trafford last year. They have lost two good players but they'll probably bring through another gem.

Probably, but there's no way they'll be able to blood a youngster in the next fortnight.

no youngster will play insteed of Witsel or Garcia. Probably or coach will sweep to one of his old tactics, with a 4-4-2 Diamond, with Matic as defensive mid and aimar as att mid, with salvio and enzo on the sides.

You dont really know what you are talking about.......there are no rich clubs in Portugal, and we are forced everyyear to sell some stars, but as you can see, portuguese clubs, speacially Benfica and Porto, have good scouts and we buy potential stars everyyear, so we can keep up the team, and keep having stars to sell the next years. Thats how it works here. Did you think we sold Garcia and Witsel because we are rich? or Di Maria? or Ramires and Luiz? or Coentrão? if we kept our stars from the past 3 years, we would have a dreamteam at the moment! There not such thing as "rich teams" in Portugal......there are some good managed teams.

I'm sure you're right but did you not just make about £45m in that window?

    Did you spend a lot?

They arent really rich though. They buy for more money and spend more money. It's like a larger scale version of us. Like We buy Ki for £2million and sell him for £6.5million. They buy players for £5/6/7/8million and sell for £15/20/25million.

But other than the buying and selling they havent got a lot of money. They need to sell to buy to maintain their wagebill.

Im not really sure, but his wage is around 150k €/month, wich gives something like £29k/week.

I can see your point, but i can´t really see us as a rich team, and maybe we are in a similar financial state as Celtic. We just received 20M for Javi Garcia, 40M for Witsel and other small sells, but we´ve bought 25M in players. The TV and advertisement money is not that much in Portugal, and the tickets can´t be sold at the same price as in other countries, speacially at this moment that all of you must be aware of Portugal´s situation.

Our highest paid player is Aimar, and his wage is around 50K €/week, and thats already too much for portuguese football reality. Our monthly wage budget was around 3.5M €/month (around £650k/week), wich is ages from most teams playing the Champions League.

You've just casually said that you received 40m for one player and spent 25m during your window. Do you know what we spend per window or receive for player sales?

i guess you spent 3 or 4M right? I dont really know how you received. I wish we were a rich club, capable of keeping our best players everyyear, but we are forced to sell at least one star every single year to maintain our finances.

Benfica aren't a rich club. It's nonsense to suggest they are.

They're rich compared to us though.

We spent about €1M and recieved about €8M. We only signed Ambrose for money. Miku, Lassad and Kamenar are free transfers or loans. We sold Ki for about €8M. The most we have ever paid is about €7.5M for Lennon or Sutton about 12 years ago. The most we have ever recieved is €12M for McGeady in 2010.

Ambrose was £1.2m so that's around €1.5m? There will have been a loan fee for Miku too, presumably around a million.

Ambrose wouldnt have cost near that. He was in the last year of his contract. He probably only cost £300-500k.

At the moment, and unfortunately, Rangers is gone from SPL so there is no real contender to the title. This way Celtic doesn´t even need to spend much money to win the title, and can give opportunity to some young players. It must be hard to keep moral and ambition without Rangers to fight with no?
