    Hey all,

Not sure where to start in this but I'll do my best to keep it short.

Name is Ben, from Pennsylvania in the states. Currently a 5th year senior at Penn State. Chances are if you've heard about Penn State it's because of a big nasty child abuse scandal. While I'm not in class I cover Penn State athletics. I'm on twitter at @Ben_Jones88

Anyway, back in high school I had a chance to visit London during Brazil-France, and was in Italy when they won the world cup. Ever since then I've really liked watching soccer/football. Been a big USA fan obviously, but I was looking for another team to root for outside of the MLS. Besides rooting for Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey I was attracted to Celtic because the fanbase seemed so passionate, something I can relate to back here at home. I watch my fair share of EPL like everyone else, but last season I just really enjoyed rooting for Celtic.

So here I am, I've done a fair amount of reading to catch up on the history and old players so I'm "ok" with that. I love watching Old Firm games even if they're on hold now.

So I guess outside of my personal intro I was wondering what you think I should know about Celtic. I've rooted for the same teams most all of my life, so I'm trying to do my best to pick up the same sort of dedication to Celtic, even if the games are on at odd times over here.

Cheers, and respect to you if you made it to the end of this massive post :icon_mrgreen:

    Welcome to the forum!

Always good to see Celtic getting attention across the water, as you probably know man youve signed up on a big night for us, those 2 goals we scored in Sweden are a dream come true to take home to paradise next week.

On looking Celtics history I'd say just keep going on google, youtube etc to see what you can find and dont be afraid of starting a thread if you have any questions!

    Hail Hail:celt_2:

    Thanks

That's been mostly how I'm getting myself caught up. I started last season but decided to wait until the start of this to start posting.

I caught the second 45 today after I finished covering "football" practice here. Even I understood how big those two goals were. Hope we can close it out next week.

And I agree, there is a decent sized group of Celtic supporters over here, sadly I wasn't able to make it to Deebo for the Real Madrid game but plenty of people watched it including myself.

    Hi Ben,

Firstly welcome to TC where I'm sure you will be made welcome. Learning all about the club is a lifetime thing and once you have the bug it never leaves you.

Obviously a lot of information is available online these days and the depth of history stretches back 125 years so there is plenty to discover.

Just find what you can online and if there are certain periods you want to know more about just come on here and ask for recommendations for which DVD or books are best. Tons of help is usually available and if you search through TC's own newsdesk I'm sure you will find some useful articles in there also.
