    Well today Darren O'dea signed for my cities MLS club Toronto FC. How do you all think he will do in the MLS? Anyone think we should have held on to him considering our current CB situation or was he never good enough for Celtic??

    haha i would love to see Darren get stuck the * into kenny studs up like he did to Darren back at ipox... Next time TFC play Vancouver im getting a ticket for sure!

    Didnt rate him but you cant take away his epic perfomance in the cup final and his games in the back to the walls fights as a young player in the CL. You could say he wasted too much of his career as a fringe man with us and it may have damaged his development but money cant buy the memories he has of those big moments that he wouldnt have had if he had headed off to be a regular with another team more on his level.

    he did put in some fantastic performances in the CL and aginst rangers.. I thought he could have been a regular for us eventually but as you mentioned i think he spent to much time as a fringe player

    His main football flaw IMO were poor positional sense. Always thought in our usual SPL games when we pushed up, he made our defensive area feel huge. A good CH does the opposite. Problem is (and this is true of most fringe players with us) he needed to go off at about 20 years old and learn his trade with some smaller team for 2 or 3 years.

    Hmm...SPL or MLS, I wonder which league I'd prefer to be playing in. :86: Especially telling when we showed him the door. His next best option would've been going to the Championship or League One or some *.

    MLS is better than many think, and I'd love to play in it. Just going from strength to strength, as well.

    When he first broke into the first team under Gordon Strachan I thought he had the potential to be a good player for us. Once Strachan left, O'Dea's performances declined and it's been obvious for a long time that he had no future at Celtic.

    Good luck to him with his new club though. He always gave his best in the Hoops and he'll always be remembered for scoring that goal in the League Cup Final.
