Hooper has shown little so far as work rate is concerned which is what we are going to need on wednesday night.I would play samaras up on his own and have commons come from the midfield as support and move Ledley back to left back.We would still have a goal threat but be very strong in the middle of the park.

Great comeback from HJK Helsinki: HJK Helsinki 3 VPS Vaasa 3 but this shows we should be confident of scoring atleast 1. Second back to back game where HJK have dropped points.

3-3. Shows some good character right there. We'll need to be solid in midfield and defense.
    Still confident enough of qualification.

Izzy still doesnt look like he is near his best yet and he didn't fill me with confidence in the first leg. I wouldn't take any chances considering how important this match is and we know ledley can do a very good job at left back so I would playhim there. The team I would choose would give us a lot of protetion and enough pace to form quick attacks. Plenty of quality to use the ball in possession to with ledley mulgrew commons kayal etc

    Foster
    Mathews Rogne Mulgrew Ledley
    Forrest Brown Wanyama Kayal Commons
    Samaras

Ledley is rotten defensively at left back. Positioning is bollocks.

Which is strange as it's excellent in the middle.

Ledley isn't rotten at LB in the slightest. He was great against Rangers there last season and whenever he had to play there last season, he done just fine. The only time he was "rotten" in that position was against Utrecht and that is not suprising considering how bad the rest of the team was that night.

Think we should beat them easily enough without straining too hard. We should have hammered them at CP in the first leg which would have made the trip to Finland a lot better though.

No way would I play Emilio. Starting to look like a one-season-wonder. Wanyama shouldn't play at CB, doesn't look good at all. Rogne & Mulgrew is our best pairing.

I didn't mind Wanyama playing there today because of the farce of Mulgrew not being allowed to feature because of a red card in a friendly match.

I'd got really defensive to start with in this match with our plan B on the bench. Even if we do concede 2 goals we're still in it but the longer the game goes on at nil nil the better of course.

    ............................................Forster

    Matthews...................Rogne........Mulgrew.......Izaguirre

    .....Brown...........Kayal.......Wanyama...Commons..Forrest

    ...........................................Samaras

Noo ledley very surprising I would have ledley in place of Forrest and move commons out right of brown
Just wondering if Korea go out can ki play?? As his ball retention would come in handy

I genuinely have no idea what team will play on wednesday, there are so many different variations. All I know is that a 4-3-3/4-5-1 must be deployed. The only players I would definitely start are Forster, Matthews, Rogne, Mulgrew, Wanyama and Ledley. The 7 players that should be in contention for the other 5 starting positions are Izaguirre, Forrest, Brown, Kayal, Commons, Samaras and Hooper.

For the above poster, even if South Korea are knocked out tonight Ki will definitely not nor should not feature against HJK Helsinki days after finishing at the Olympic Games. Plenty of options for the middle of the park anyway. 35 minutes in: Britain 1 South Korea 1. Flukey penalty from Ramsey.

Hmmm, Lennon will prefer Ledley to Kayal no doubt because of his height but I feel that Ledley gets a lot of praise from the fans for very little. I'm not a big fan of his although I don't think he's bad either.

Forrest is a good out ball for this game and Commons could thread a ball though for Samaras. That's why I'd play Brown out wide.

Each to their own but his positioning at left back is honking. Good on the ball and that and strong in the tackle but positioning is *.
