Dont get this soft house electro scene thats after taking over everything at all.

Would ye's not rather a bit of trance or hardcore when you go to club rather than soft * with no feeling? Dont know why its sore spot with me ha

Tiesto selling out is old news but I see Showtek who were one of the leading hardstyle acts for years now do "electro" and "progressive"

What do you class as soft?

More often than not anybody that is into dance music will go through a harder/faster dance phase. I done it for years and, eventually, it starts wearing thin. It becomes too monotonous and formulaic. If you truly love it the natural thing to do is progress and find a style with more substance that you like.

Its only natural for an artist to create new sounds and explore different scenes. Lets be honest, they probably listened to Electro and Progressive for years while they were performing their harder stuff.

    Night i'm going to is

    SVEN VÄTH
    LOCO DICE
    MAYA JANE COLES
    NINA KRAVIZ
    ADAM BEYER
    CHRIS LIEBING
    MARCEL DETTMANN
    DAMIAN LAZARUS
    SCUBA
    CHEZ DAMIER
    JOY ORBISON
    LEVON VINCENT
    KYLE HALL
    ANDREW WEATHERALL
    JAY DANIEL
    MEANS&3RD
    KRYSKO & GREG LORD

With regards to styles of music and preference, I have time for a lot of different dance music but I know my preferred choice to be the kind of stuff the people above play.

Started listening to dance music when i was probably about 9/10 with folk like Ultrasonik, Qfx, TTF etc, then stuff like Helter Skelter/Dreamscape/Bonkers which stemmed from neighbours, mates older brothers going to these events in Edinburgh, Newcastle etc and bringing back the tapes. As I got older moved on to stuff like trance, hard dance, hard house etc, ie Gatecrasher, Tidy etc. Used to go to insideout/freefall etc all the time.

Got more and more into techno and house as i got older though and now its basically all i listen to in terms of dance music, although its not uncommon for me to listen to some old club kinetic helter skelter stuff when im mwi. :icon_mrgreen: As i said, i have a lot of time for most forms of dance music, only stuff i cant stand is stuff like dubstep, uk garage and scouse house.

In my opinion the techno/house scene here is as good as its ever been in the 11 or so years ive been going to events so cant really complain, totally spoiled for choice in glasgow at the moment.
