All of these players could use the ball better than Balde bar the keepers of course.

Another total dud for me was Martin Hayes. He was woeful.

Surely when talking about defenders then their ball skills are the last thing you would judge?

Now, Bonnes was a winger type who could at least control the ball. Far too weak but much better than Balde of course.

Du Wei - Can't comment on a guy I've only watched 45 mins worth

Camara - Very poor but again better technically than Balde in possession of the football. Capable of a decent cross as well.

Biggins - Cannot remember his game one bit.

Name 5 players that out fought Balde physically. Guy won everything in the air, and made countless successful last ditch lunges.Scored a few goals as well. Would love for a player in his mould now.

Lol, what? We're talking about footballers here. Guys who get paid to play the game should be able to control and pass the ball!

I'm telling you that he's the most embarrassing footballer to have played for Celtic, not how good he was in the air.

He wasn't paid to get the ball on the deck and play, he was there to win headers and tackles. That's like saying Larsson was a dud because he couldn't tackle, which is also a part of football.

All footballers a paid to keep possession, not give it away like a Sunday Pub League player.

McManus wasn't a very good footballer either and Balde was ten times the defender he was.

CB's aren't judged for their ability on the ball. He was a rock in defence and scared the * out of many an opposition striker. The fact you have him as one of the greatest diddy's shows more about your footballing knowledge than it does about Balde's ability. Balde would be useful to have in our current side!

That's debatable on the defending side.

McManus is at least twice the player on the ball that Balde was though and the old skipper wasn't the best as we all will remember.

Shutting out teams like Man Utd, France etc is good going and SM was a big part of them.

Aye, never did keep a clean sheet against any decent teams with big Bobo in the team.

Your just making points to suit your own agenda while missing out everything that goes against it.

I 100% can't agree mate. Balde was a nightmare to watch. You watched that guy through your fingers when he was in possession. If you think that's what we need right now.....
