You've supported us for 50 years and you can only remember 9 titles?

    Says it all really.

    Gloryhunter.

Did we or did we not win tonight?

Started well, but really did get sloppy. Few poor individual performances tonight.
Thought Sammy started well but started to fade and make poor choices. Izzy was pretty sloppy.
But Matthews,& Chico played very well. Commons too before he came off.

Can't say I'm too disappointed...we won, and should have had more.
But next week we will be disappointed if we are that sloppy again. Poor goal to lose, and losing possession far too easily at times.

We're in the driving seat at the moment, but given past displays at this stage we really need to get a grip, keep calm and play like we know we can.

i would play Brown as well. As much as he was terrible today his battling qualities will be needed.

from your team I would have Broony in place of Forrest, Sammy in place of Hooper and Commons in place of Sammy.

Well because I have only been supporting Celtic for 20 years. And I remember some good times (ONeil) and I remember some pretty horrible times (Rangers 9IAR, Barnes, Mowbray).
We went for decades without making so much as a mark on European football. We went for years without even winning in Scotland. I have never claimed we are fantastic but if you have watched celtic for 50 years you seem to be cherry picking the very best moments and forgetting the guff in between. Against our long term average I think we are looking ok

Happy enough with the win they didn't look all that great but neither do we when we play away so I'm expecting a better performance from them next week still fancy us to go there and get at least a draw

We had a chance in the first 30 seconds and did well for about 15-20 mins, but after that they had a good spell and forced Forster into a good save. After they scored, we looked dangerous in just about every attack. They showed enough however to suggest we will need to play at the top of our game to get a result over there.

You are correct. A glorious Euro victory at CP.

You obviously know I meant 9 in a row.

Nobody can be called a gloryhunter watching this side !!!!

I think we might win the league though !

    Back in Europe again.

Happy enough with the win but I'm not sure if it's enough to see us through especially as the second leg is on an artificial pitch.

Happy enough with the result and how we played at times considering it was our first competitive game of the season. As someone else stated,it's up to them to come and attack us in the next leg, which will suit us fine.

:32::32:For the drama queens in thread earlier, gets boring after a while.

There seems to be a lot of nonsense being spouted about us 'needing to score another'. WE DON'T! We've manoeuvred ourselves ahead in the tie, so a 0-0 in Helsinki will do fine thanks! :50:

Our easily excitable nature has been our downfall time and again. An intelligent team would not have been pushing as hard as we were for a third goal in the last 5 mins of that match. They would have settled down and ENSURED that the victory was carried through to the next tie.

Fair enough. It's a hard choice.

That's also a possibility, altough I dont agree with most of it. I would definitely play Forrest. Sammy up top and Commons on the left would be ok. Altough I'm a fan of Hooper I will always pick him in my lineup:icon_mrgreen:

Fair chance it will be on in the big supporters club in Greenock mate so you should not have to rely on a stream.

It's not an ideal result going into the 2nd leg considering our away form in Europe. I know people can point to getting draws away to Rennes and Udinese last season, but there was very little pressure on us in those games. All the pressure is on us in this tie, we get put out and it's a disaster, if HJK Helsinki get put out then it isn't a huge deal for them because it's expected.

I am genuinely worried about the 2nd leg, I really thought we needed that two goal margin. I hope to * I am wrong. HJK Helsinki weren't up to much tonight and their goal was fortunate, but they do have a good home record and they would have been much the happier team tonight with the result.

We were very sloppy tonight which can be put down to lack of competitive games, but Commons, Sammy and Wanyama were very loose with their passing. We really should have got the third goal in that second half as we certainly put enough pressure on them, but considering we only played one half of the game then you can't expect too much.

    I didn't I know what you said.

Did we win tonight? In our first competitive game back?

I don't really get what you are moaning about, really need to get the sand out of your *.
