Least anyone got was Dinamo Zagreb €8,206,000 - there is a "Market Pool" amount to be added to the Participation/Match Bonuses. I think were closure to £10-12,000,000 without winning a game.

Is the first leg at Parkhead or in Finland?

I honestly don't get why everyone keeps mentioning this Shalke result. Yes Shalke are good team, but Helsinki shouldn't be judged on the their one big scalp.

I doubt the mob that beat St Johnstone last night were worrying because they beat us 1-0 at CP last year

Decent draw considering how tough it could've been. Imagine traveling over two thousand miles to face Azeri team or going to distant Cyprus and play in ridiculous heat most players aren't used to.

Not an easy team to face and playing them away in second leg will be a real test for this team. Winning by 2 or 3 goals at home without conceding would be ideal and realistic scenario, though away game will be a problem.

This tie is essential as going through to play-off round would guarantee EL groups if we fail.

    New centre-back and I'm confident.

I'm happy we are playing at home first. Hopefully gives us a chance to get the tie over & done with. Looking forward to it. Four goals and I'll be confident going into the away leg.

Not sure if it's been mention or if it's actually true!
But i hear they play on an artificial pitch, that worries me a little :38:
I think we need to win comfortably at home to have a chance..
We never make it easy for ourselves but i think we will win this one :icon_mrgreen:

They seem like a bit of a Dundee United on paper. I'm wary.

Yes, they play on an artificial turf.
Here is a pic of the stadium.

Its the one at the bottom. The other is the Olympic Stadium.

For anyone flying to the match there is good availability at moment for flights.
That will go quickly, no doubt.
Cheapest flight i could find was £318 return out morning 31st and return following afternoon.

expect a tough match but we should be winning this, but they are in the middle of their season.

This may be a stupid question by why is it saying we are either playing HJK Helsinki or Reykjavik?

Because they've only played the first leg of the second round between these 2 teams, albeit Helsinki are 7-0 up!!!

Second leg isn't 'til next week.

Greetings Celtic fans! We HJK fans agree we could've done worse in this draw, but by no means we wanted to face Celtic. Zilina would've been our pick, while Basel and Partizan were rated above you in the pre-draw discussions.

I still remember our last encounter well and the match in Helsinki that saw you go through was close. However we are feeling confident facing you again. The 7-0 against thumping of KR Reykjavik
([ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvCCKFbSvqQ"]HJK TV: HJK Helsinki - KR Reykjavík 7-0 - YouTube[/ame]) in the first leg of the 2nd Qual round this year and last seasons good performances against Bangor City 10-0 ([ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za0STWuXSEM&feature=relmfu"]HJK TV: HJK Helsinki - Bangor City 10-0 - YouTube[/ame]), Partizan Belgrade (1-2) ([ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMLdX5X1ZLA"]HJK TV: HJK - FK Partizan 1-2 - YouTube[/ame]) and the home leg 2-0 win over Schalke ([ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw6b6WFYA1s"]HJK 2-0 Schalke 04 - YouTube[/ame]) provide lots of confidence for the fans.

With regards to the main threats facing Celtic in the HJK team I would reckon you need to watch out for the following guys especially:

    - Juho Mäkelä - Former Hearts and 3 time Finnish league top goalscorer. Always a threat especially on the counter attack.
    - Joel Pohjanpalo - Finnish wonderkid with a natural talent to score goals has made his breakthrough this season, starting off the season with a hat-trick in the league opener [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibHRquIsXkg"]17 year old wonderkid Joel Pohjanpalo scores a perfect hat-trick in under 3 mins (Continuous shot) - YouTube[/ame]
    - Mika Väyrynen - Former Heerenveen, PSV and Leeds player is really the star of the team. Having joined the club only last week he made an immediate impact againt KR this Tuesday.

The HJK is quite small, relatively weak in the air (excl. the two center backs) but quick, technical, hungry and capable of surprises.

Looking forward to the games against Celtic!

We could easily show videos of us beating Barcelona, Shaktar Donestsk, Benfica, AC Milan, Man UTD...the list goes on, but it doesn't make a difference. We're playing Helsinki, it's a game we should win. We were the biggest team in the draw. No excuses.

Agreed. If we need to spend money to get through this tie we might as well close the doors. We should be good enough

You just worry about making sure that there's enough Guinness on tap, Finland. Let us worry about the Football!

Juho Makela scored 2 goals in 3 years for Hearts, , the fact he can score goals in Finland doesnt bother me. As long as he is watched a bit he shouldnt be too much of a threat.

That Joel Pehpanjolo boy or whatever however looks dangerous.
