Had a feeling Real would slip up tonight. Barely got away with it at the weekend.

If Atletico win their rnext match, have they won it?

Then the last game is pointless?

Nah they needed to win on Sunday for that to happen. If barca win both of their games then they will be champions. Atletico need to beat barca to guarantee it. Or draw both of their 2 games.

I don't get that. Do they have 2 games left? If so, then why would 3 points not suffice? Why doe they need at least 2 points over 2 games?

Infact naw I know, its cause they need to take points off of Barca. This is in barca's hands now isn't it - mental season.

And yet sky haven't really paid attention to it as much.

Because of the head to head rule if the both win their next game the last game of the season is basically a shoot out, winner takes all. Pretty mental that the whole season could come down to one game. Can't remember ever seeing a game where the winner would end up winning the title, and probably won't see it again for a long time.

Atletico would only need to draw at the Nou Camp - assuming they win against Malaga.

EDIT: They only need to draw their last two games in fact. Crazy how it's panned out.

I dunno if I like the head to head rule or not- but loosing on goal difference is torture as well.

Prefer the head to head rule personally. Whoever has come out on top when the top 2 have played throughout the season are worthy winners at the end of the season if it's equal points, rather than who scored the most goals and conceded the least.

I find the head to head rule fairer,it immediately affects how you have played against the best teams in the league, yes Real may have blew teams away from throughout the league, but if the haven't beaten Atletico or Barca do they really deserve it as much as pumping Elche or Grenada

Right enough, much fairer when you think about it.

So if Barca win their next game it doesn't make a blind bit of difference if Atletico win or draw. I guess they'll still be well up for winning considering they need a confidence boost after Levante and there's always the chance Barca could slip up.

What if Atletico lose at the weekend and then Barca win at the weekend and they draw the last game of the season? Would it go to GD, since head to head would be the same?

Yeah I think it does. So if atletico get beat at the weekend they'll need to beat barca, all they need though is a draw from each of the 2 games.

Imagine... after everything, Barcelona go on to nick it on the final day of the season.

With the experience in the Barcelona team if it goes to the last game of the season and they need to win. I can't seem them not winning it.

They've been there plenty of times and done it in the big games. This is all relatively new to the Athletico team.

It's all crazy though, as has already been said Barca have been * this year. Will winning the league be enough to save Martinos job?

Doubt it. From what I've read Tata has already said he'll be leaving in the summer. Luis Enrique has apparently spoke with the club as well.

That's true but look how well they handled the Champions League semi final. Might not have much experience of these high pressure games but they seem to be up to it.

Not sure, would the away goals rule come into play in the head to heads before goal difference comes into it?
