I went to one of those Show Racism the Red Card meetings when I was in school and Paul Elliot told a story about someone throwing a banana at him when he was playing for Celtic, and he said he just picked it up and ate it and got on with the game.

I assume Alves knows this story as well and his actions tonight were a subtle hint at his desire to move to Celtic.

 

Aye 2 wins would secure the title for Atletico now given it's the head to head rule in Spain rather than goal difference. Win their next 2 and the last day trip to the Nou Camp is meaningless as they'll already be champions.

Would be interesting to see what would happen if Atletico do drop points before then and Real are winning comfortably on the final day. Barcelona would be faced with attempting to win and potentially handing the title to Real or throwing the game and allowing Atletico to win the title (by far the lesser of 2 evils from their point of view). One for the conspiracy theorists!

Probably won't happen anyway as I think Atletico will have the title wrapped up before then in any case.

 

Atletico to play away at Levante next week then home to Malaga the following week. Massive massive games for them!

 

I wonder whats more important to Atletico - the league or CL?

They could have it all though.

Kinda bugs me that, even though its right that this is heavily condemned by everybody, one incident like this and its all over SkySports, yet every weekend at Ibrox they are singing and shouting sectarian and racist obscenities yet no one ever mentions it.
