It seems we'll have a hard season. Hope not to fall to the Second Division...

Just watching that Spanish Gold programme on Sky Sports. It had the highlights from Barca 5-0 against Madrid from 2010. * *, that was some performance

You guys are in the same position as Malaga, which surprises me if I'm honest.

Why? I think both teams are very similar. We'll have the chance to see them play soon in La Rosaleda. :50:

Malaga have lost most of their influential players from last season with the exception of *. I'm fearing the worst for them this season :54:

We sold Beñat and Dorlan Pabón. And Rubén Castro, our topscorer in the last seasons is injured. I think La Liga has lost a lot of strenght this year. Madrid and Barcelona share out the almost all money and the others can only survive...

That's not strictly true. They get £150 million between them and a few clubs (such as Athletico) get roughly £40-£50 million, then a few more teams get £35 million and the bottom of the pile work between £7-£25 million. None of that is hardly scraping the barrel. I mean the bottom placed team get more than Celtic.

He means in comparison to other Spanish teams. You can't really compare La Liga and the Scottish Premiership in the way you have there.

I understand that but when teams get £40-£50 million - its hardly 'surviving' - thats what Man United et al used to receive. Other Spanish teams should have put up more of a fight than they have.

Look at this table. It's not from this season, but TV sharing continues the same. Betis receives 29,5 million € (not £) and we are the fifth Spanish team in audience.

I understand with clubs like yourselves mate, I was aiming that statement towards the Valencia's and Athletico's. I don't even think evenly distributing television income would benefit everyone else - bar the real financial strugglers.

It would really destroy Barca and Madrid however.

Sure. For this season the rest 18 teams had to sell their stars while Barça payed 57 millions for Neymar and Real almost 100 for Bale. We needed to sell Beñat and Pabón; Sevilla made the same with Negredo, Jesús Navas or Medel; Valencia with Soldado; Atlético with Falcao; Málaga sold Baptista, Isco or Toulalan; Real Sociedad, Illarramendi...

You don't see this in other European important leagues, as England or Germany. In fact we use to say here we are starting to be a copy of ancient Scottish Premier League, when the Huns existed. :icon_mrgreen:

I feel for your team however. I don't even know how it can be remedied, however you are in a better position, being a great talent producing nation, therefore a strong youth academy may help you - ever so slightly.

That's Betis project. We are investing more than ever in infrastructures for the farm teams. But if you have a good player, even if he's 11 or 12 yrs old, Barça or Real take him. So there's no solution but sending them to the Portuguese or French League. :56:
