Doubt it. He's switched allegiances to Spain.

Has a burning desire to sit on their bench.

He'd probably start for Spain on current form.

I think Michu and Diego Costa will be the two strikers of Spain in the next World Cup. Torres and Villa are so far from them at the moment... even for Del Bosque.

What about Negredo? Started pretty well for Man City.

Negredo, Soldado, Rubén Castro, Llorente... We have good strikers, but these are in a B group I think. The majority of people asked why Michu wasn't selected by Del Bosque before and now he has his chance. And Costa is the key player of a team that has won its 10 official matches till the momment if we exclude both against Barcelona in the Supercup (1-1 and 0-0).

Already has 3 full caps for Brazil. Has any player ever been capped for a full national team and then changed to play for a different nation from a different continent?

    http://www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/double-caps.html

A list of footballers to play for 2 Countries or more.

One of the most famous, he will probably be on the list but I didn't see his name is Alfredo Di Stefano. He played 6 times for Argentina, 4 times for Colombia, and then 31 times for Spain.

I agree he would start ahead of Torres and Negredo, the only other player on form is probably Soldado

Diego Costa hasn't played any official match with Brazil. For that reason he can be capped for Spain.

He's Brazillian and hasn't got any Spanish heritage at all. It's ridiculous that players can even be considered for playing for a nation just because they've played in the domestic league for a few years. Why would he even want to represent a country that isn't is?

Most Brazillians only play for other nations (like Eduardo for Croatia & Alex Santos for Japan) because they've got zero chance of getting a cap. He's already got a few caps and is in strong contention to play in his home World Cup next year. Can't understand why he wouldn't want to play for Brazil.

Perhaps because he's lived & worked in a country for 6 years and now calls it home...There are examples all around the globe of naturalized players on many NTs, much ado about nothing...Particularly when you consider Scolari has had ample time to call him up if Brasil were serious about the player

Look at Ferenc Puskás' goal scoring record for Hungary - 84 in 85. Amazing.

Magical Magyars definitely the greatest team to never win the World Cup.

He's played for Brazil at full international level. He isn't Spanish. If he wants to play international football, continue to do so for Brazil. No way should he be allowed to decide to swap national team now.
