No he gets judged on the fact he has to sell guys like Henry, Flamini, Hleb, Adebayor, Toure, Gallas, Nasri, Fabregas, Clichy, Van Persie and Song every year. Buys players who are a fraction of what those players are in terms of transfer fee and in terms of how well known they are and still manages the get them either 3rd or 4th in the premier league each season.

Consider what Spurs have spent and the amount of players they've bought since 2008... Pavlychenko, Modric, Bentley, Dos Santos, Kaboul, Corluka, Keane, Defoe, Chimbonda, Crouch, Palacios, Van Der Vaart, Cudicini, Freidel, Assou Ekotto, Bassong, Gomes, Dempsey, Sigurdsson, Parker, Adebayor, Dembele, LLories, Holtby and still can't finish ahead of Arsenal.

Also they don't lose their best players every summer (minus last summer when they sold Modric and Van Der Vaart).

Also take into account what Liverpool have spent since 2009 and they are miles behind Arsenal.

He hasn't had the money in recent years due to debt on the stadium and possibly harsh restrictions opposed onto the club.

Considering since the last time he has won anything the likes of Wigan, Portsmouth, Liverpool, Spurs and Swansea have won trophies in England I wouldn't say it's all that hard of a job to do so.

And since 2004 Liverpool have been far more succesfull then Arsenal.

    Arsenal: Nothing
Liverpool: 1 FA Cup, 1 League Cup, 1 Champions League, 1 Charity Shield, 1 UEFA Super Cup.

    Moronic.

Hating teams cause they're arrogant is stupid. Every team is arrogant, it's part of the very nature of sport.

Diving? aye cause Celtic players never dive....

He's always played his youth in the FA Cup and League Cup though..... which I suppose is technically his own fault.

I'm just saying the last 7 years or so have been a stabilising transitional period for Arsenal, Wenger should be judged starting from this summer into next year because they'll be able to compete now if their Chief Executive is anything to go by.

Slagging Celtic to stick up for another team? Aye, you can get to * with that one.

Arsenal are *, arrogant, diving, cheating, cockney, wanks who celebrate * out of failure every single year and hold it up as some sort of achievement when that is literally all they are. Failures.

    Deal with it.

He's just slated Celtic to stick up for Arsenal; what do you think?

Aye, unlike say Everton, Spurs, Newcastle probably even Chelsea and Man City fans - I dont think any of them would admit we are a bigger Club than them. They seem arrogant as *.

Even though they are one of the best teams in the World and play in London and in the Premiership to millions in worldwide audiences and will have hundreds of thousands of "fans" abroad every year and they are in the Champions League knockout stages every season. They only bring in £15-18million a year in Merchandise sales... which is basically the exact same as us (from 2006- we've brought in £14-18.5million). It ranges depending on how many tops are released in seasons. But both our averages are like £16million a season. Yet I bet they think they sell 10 times the merchandise we do as they are massive and we are a wee diddy Scottish team who do well to get into the Champions Leaue once every 2/3 years.

The most Arsenal have ever made in merchandise sales is £18.3million in 2011-2012, which is less than Celtic's most which was £18.4million in 2006-2007.

Only a moron would trade 1 FA/League cup to be in any of those clubs positions.

Face the facts when Liverpool won the CL they got lucky.

When Arsenal were in the final they were extremely unlucky.

In football you make your own luck; I'd rather be in Liverpool's position over the last 10 years than Arsenal's.

But I guess that's Arsenal's problem; happy with mediocrity and taking failure and turning it into an achievement in there minds.

:97: No they weren't. In fact, Arsenal always, and I mean always, seem to drop lucky in the CL. Especially the group stages where they more than most benefit from the seeding system. Then when they do actually face a good side they invariably lose.

Like Oisin said though, Arsenals priority for about 6/7 years is just maintaining CL football so they bring in maximum money to pay off their Stadium debt. Its why they always sell their best players.

Wengers job hasnt been to win the League Cup or FA Cup and as he says they have played young players in them for most of that time to prioritise the League and Champions League.

If you listen to any of their fans on radio phone ins and that you'd see that they're far from happy with it and I sincerely doubt Wenger is either. They're looking for the long term, sometimes clubs have to suffer for a bit to get to where they need to be. I mean we went 9 years without winning the league in the 90's... look at us now.

Arsenal have been run as a business since about 2005 to pay off debt, if in any season since then they failed to get Champions League football they'd have lost about £40million which is a lot to them and it would set them back a year or two. Wenger has done a great job maintaining it for so long while downsizing. Especially when you consider in that time Man City have emerged as billionaires and Spurs and Liverpool have been tossing money about like its goin out a fashion.

Well I'd rather be in Arsenal's position. I wouldn't trade their position for all of Chelsea and Man City's money. That's what a fan is you know.
