    I can't understand the big deal about Martinez.

    OK, Wigan were a smaller club and he tried to play entertaining football, but ultimately he got them relegated

    He built two really good teams though Swansea and Wigan with not a lot of money. His teams played good football but they were obviously limited because they never had much money. Wiga getting relegated isnt a shock when other relegation candidates like Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa have £8million+ players in their squads like Ireland, N'Zogbia, Benteke, A.Johnson, Wickham etc

    Won the FA Cup with Wigan against Man City and laid the foundations at Swansea who are no in the Premiership.

    Will be interesting to see Essien back at Chelsea next season if he will get many games. Was he seen as good or bad at Madrid? I thought he done ok but seen the other day he was voted most disappointing right-back in La Liga(ahead of Alan Hutton lol who was 2nd).

    He played well in their last game of the season made a lot of good runs and passes.

    He was error prone, not the best passer, and his first touch was often found wanting, but aside from all that he was a tenacious worker and put in some great shifts. (Nou Camp vs Barcelona being one stand-out occasion)

    He was (and is) infinitely better than Mikel.

    Indeed, I do see a lot of him in Wanyama. Not on Essien's level yet though. Vic's passing could be better but he's got a great work rate and is very strong.

    I thought Meireles was a weird player too, he was hard working but lazy and good on the ball but clumsy. Seemed to fluctuate a lot and was never consistant, think he thought he was better than he was and sometimes put in less effort in an attempt to score more goals but in other games he would get tore in. You never knew what youd get from him kind of like Gravesen for us.
