    Listening to fergies speech was emotional as *, was great of him mentioning flectcher and telling the fans to back moyes. Best manager of all time imo and he'll be greatly missed. As for rooney i'll reserve my judgment til i see how it all plays out, could still see him staying tbh but if he does leave then the club will move on without him, better players have left before.

    When Van Persie arrived at Manchester United Dimitar Berbatov was still at the club and the incumbent number nine.
    Van Persie opted for Fabio Da Silva's vacated number 20, as the Brazilian full-back was sent on season-long loan to QPR, but has been offered the number nine shirt for next season.
    However the Dutchman has opted to stick with his current squad number, saying that he does not want fans who have bought a shirt with his name and number on the back to have to shell out for an updated shirt.
    "I think I’ll keep it," Van Persie said of his number to United Review. "I have the option to take number nine but I don’t think I will do that. I’ll stick with what is right and what feels good.
    "Also, I don’t want to be harsh on the fans who have got number 20 on their kit. I don’t want them to have to buy a new shirt.

    Any team would miss a player like Rooney , gave the club a great 9 years and will be looked on as a great. Could have been a legend and the clubs top goal scorer of all time had he stayed. No player is bigger than the club and as has been proved in the past the club will still go on . Not many players go on to bigger and better things after Man Utd .
