I would argue that Gerrard has been better than Lampard this year as well; whose been a bit part player (rightly or wrongly) for Chelsea, despite doing very well when he has been playing.

Gerrard and Suarez have been sensational together this season. Gerrard's all round play is better than Lampards whilst they are comparable going forward. Gerrards faster, stronger, better passer, better tackler, better positionally, better intercepting, better dribbling, better shooting.

Gerrard is capable of performances like he did in Istanbul; one of the best I have ever seen put on by the one player. Stuff like that Lampard just isn't capable of; dragging a team on the brink to glory.

I keep saying Lampard is a good player; he just isn't up there with the the best of the best.

that is correct but the fact he has stayed at the reds all this time shows that he is a true great and a great guy not many players around who stay all clubs for life.

    Pelligrini for City?

I'd be worried if I was a United fan.

As the old saying goes; a picture says more than a thousand words. However, three come to mind: "You are fired.

Pellegrini is a fantastic manager, far more accomplished and experienced than Moyes, so it will be fascinating to see how long it takes Moyes to catch up.

If he can successfully adapt to English football, he'll take City on to the next level in Europe. Mancini cannot do that, he isn't cut out for it, whereas Pellegrini has a proven track record and has punched above with weight with Villarreal and Malaga.

Not to mention his time at Real Madrid, if it wasn't for Barca being at their peak and the ridiculous behind the scenes politics that define Real, that would have worked out well for him.

If it wasn't for an offside goal, he'd be taking his team to Wembley. Tactically he got the better of Klopp, not many managers do.

    I agree 100%.

I'm a massive fan of Pellegrini. One of the few managers who manage to blend attractive football with a solid backbone to it. Give him players like David Silva and Aguero to work with you'll probably see a frightening prospect.

There isn't any difference between Pellegrini's Real and Mourinho's Real. Mourinho has just continued the job; not made any tactical differences or differences in personel. That tells you a lot.

Mourinho just introduced dirty play, diving, complaining, fouling and a bit less football.

Didn't introduce it; he just made it worse. I still don't agree about the 'less football' point with Real Madrid by the way; but I think we've had this conversation a lot :icon_mrgreen:

Hes far too slow to play in the Premiership, even Huddlestone makes him look slow.

Stoke are barely getting out their own box now, just a matter of time hopefully.
