You live in New Zealand; you're trying to educate someone who lives in amongst those scummy * about said scummy *.

    Doesn't make sense.

    A hun as well?

Jesus, this is ridiculous, you can't tarnish everyone connected to a club because a few idiots like Rangers. By that logic, United and Liverpool should attract far more hate because of the Orange element of their following.

It is common knowledge that United and Liverpool have loads of fans in Ireland, Chelsea don't.

But that’s not what you said, you said United and Liverpool have a greater following among loyalists.

I didn't say every single one of them are scummy. I said they are scummy, in general.

And you didn't say Ireland; you said loyalist; a massive, massive difference.

I said both sides of the divide in Ireland, and hence, loyalist.

Manchester United are huge in Belfast because of Best, but it's not a sectarian thing. The fact remains that in numbers terms, there are more of them supporting the 'big two' in Ireland than there are supporting Chelsea.

Why hold it against them (the clubs)? It's juvenile.

Seems to be an issue of semantics here...

It’s true that within the six counties United and Liverpool have a larger following than any other English clubs and that following is universal, be it among Catholics or Protestants. But Protestant should not necessarily translate as loyalist. Loyalism is a hideous little subculture within the Protestant community and it is among these vermin that Chelsea is undoubtedly the most popular English team.

It's a known fact that Chelsea's hooligan firm were loyalists and had links to the huns and linfield.

Delving way too far into this, Chelsea's loyalism is purely English in the same way the Huns are the Scottish version.

It's negligible anyway Chelsea are different now, all commercial and gloryhunters nowadays.

    Undoubtedly?

I recall seeing historical footage of Loyalist prisoners living it up large in the H-Blocks wearing Liverpool shirts, etc.

Our hooligan element has attracted plenty of dodgy characters, but the point I'm trying to make is that most of our fans shun that element.

The fans have a huge scummy element and the guy at the top of the club isn't much better himself and the captains worse.

Where did I say that there is absolutely no loyalist who supports an English team outside Chelsea? FFS, some clown even supported Celtic.

But in general, among loyalists, the most popular club is undoubtedly Chelsea. Go into any loyalist area of the six counties and if you look for football memorabilia, be it in bars or in murals and there’ll be three specific clubs who take place of place. And Devlin has already posted some of those images in this thread.

As much as I detest United and Liverpool in equal measure, they simply don’t have that hideous far‑right, neo‑* BNP element that follows clubs like Chelsea and Rangers.

Didn't he end up getting murdered by his own side?

I think I recall reading about him somewhere, was he not a tad disabled, mentally?

Tbh I’ve no idea what happened to him.

All I remember seeing is his tombstone which had a UDA and Celtic crest.

He probably was ill in some respect.

That is what is called a deflection tactic. I notice you didn't try and deflect the other two scummy elements.

Ryan Giggs is scum as well by the way; I don't think Gerrard is scum, just a bit of a * at times.

I live in London and every Chelsea fan I've come across is racist and when prompted, very anti-Irish. I have been in a box at Chelsea too, rather than watch the game they were watching another game on the TV in there which I found strange to. Lots of questionable supporters.

    That's personal experience.
