This is what I think also, until Man Utd better Liverpool's European Cup's won tally (which they probably will soon), I consider Liverpool to be the bigger/"greatest club in England".

It's like us and the old R*ngers, they won more league titles but we have the one European Cup which makes us a bigger club than them :50: :celt_2:

Btw I have no preference towards any of the two, dislike both of them actually :smiley-laughing002:

Liverpool are the best and biggest club in England. They`ll return to the top soon. Would probably consider them my EPL team. That team in 08/09 was * brilliant to watch

For me, Utd are slightly bigger because -

    1) Them and Madrid are imo the two biggest clubs in the world. They're world-renowned and have fans in every corner of the earth. Liverpool have a massive fan base but I would imagine Utd's is bigger, particularly in Britain.

    2) Man Utd have won 13 league titles since Liverpool last won one. The fact they have dominated English football so much over the past 20 years when Liverpool have only really challenged for the EPL once means, for me, Utd can be seen as the better team. I know Liverpool won the CL but still.

I also dislike them both, particularly Man Utd.

    Their midfield that season of
    Mascherano Alonso
    Gerrard

Is one of the best midfields of the last 20 years.

    Up there with France's
    Vieira Deschamps
    Zidane
    +
    Makelele Vieira
    Zidane

    Barca's
    Busquets
    Xavi Iniesta

    Spains
    Alonso
    Xavi Iniesta

    Milans
    Pirlo
    Gattuso Seedorf
    Rui Costa

Aye mate, was sensational to watch. They were involved in some crackers. That 4-4 game against Arsenal at Anfield was one of the best games I have ever seen. That midfield along with Torres at his absolute peak was class. They just needed to make another couple of top quality signings but it just fell apart after that and they couldn`t keep hold of their main players. Tore United to pieces at Old Trafford that season as well

Aye if they have half decent wingers they might have won the League... Kuyt, Riera and Babel :56:even if they had our wide players at the time McGeady and Nakamura they might have won the League.

Couple of decent wingers, a left back and a half decent back up for Torres and they were on their way but they were ran very badly from that season on

What about when Celtic are playing in the same league as Liverpool will you still support them?

I would still like to see them do well - unless it affects Celtic in a bad way. I wouldn`t really go as far to say I support them either but I like to see them do well. Kinda the same way I always like to see Barca or Dortmund do well. They`re a club I admire and they have the best fans in the league

Celtic are the only team I really support :celt_2:

I don't know about that, I think Liverpool have a huge amount of fans in Britain, maybe even bigger than Utd's, Kent doesn't represent the whole of Britain but I live down here and honestly there are more Liverpool 'supporters' here than Man Utd 'supporters'. Also agree with Real Madrid being one of the biggest in the world.

Also I agree with what you say "Utd can be seen as the better team" in the last 20 years or so. But does that make them, in terms of biggest clubs of all time, a bigger club than Liverpool?

It's a tough one to call tbh. I'll just leave it to the United and Liverpool fans to argue over it :smiley-laughing002:

I honestly don't think you can really call who are the bigger club in England, both huge and basically have dominated the English game by and large for 30 odd years!

United and Arsenal were too busy competing for the league to bother with the cups and playing in the Champions League to bother with the UEFA Cup.

A real treble is League + 2 cups or League + domestic cup and European trophy.

    Liverpool's 2001 'treble' = mickey mouse treble

Manchester United have never dominated European football in the same manner that Liverpool did in their heyday, so my point still stands.

    Lol.

Arsenal could compete if they wanted to, it's the owners that hold them back. Arsenal used to be just like Manchester United, financial bullies, so it's amusing to see their fans getting holier than thou now that the tables have turned and they aren't part of the decrepit Premier League duopoly that used to cannibalise the rest of the league for the sake of success.

Chelsea are the fifth biggest club in England in terms of attendances over the course of their history, Manchester City the eighth biggest over the course of theirs, both have always filled their stadiums and always will.

    Why would you be surprised?

Liverpool are a polarising club, for every Liverpool supporter who likes Celtic and every Celtic supporter who likes Liverpool, there is a Liverpool supporter who likes Rangers and a Rangers supporter who likes Liverpool.

Liverpool are not a bastion of pro-Celtic sentiment by any means, they have always had a large Loyalist following.

Chelsea pre-Abramovich were a bigger club than Leeds in terms of support, and on par in terms of historical success. (2 less league titles, but more domestic and European trophies)

I'd argue they are on par in terms of success, in terms of size Manchester United nowadays are obviously bigger internationally.

Manchester United haven't dominated Europe in the same manner that Liverpool did, but post-Sky bubble Man United's dominance of the league surpasses Liverpool's dominant period.

Liverpool's dominant period encapsulated 11 titles, Manchester United have won 13 titles in their dominant period and will continue to win them over the coming years.

The best, lol, you couldn't make this stuff up.

This is the type of RAWK logic that attracts the haters.

    Barca or Dortmund?

Barcelona don't have the best fans in La Liga, Dortmund supporters are fantastic but the vast majority of German clubs have passionate fans, even Bayern.

Liverpool are my 2nd team nobody comes before Celtic but I'm not the type ill check up on them now and again I look out for Liverpool a lot and watch them and have been to watch them before. Whatever people may think about having a 2nd team and you can't have 2 etc then I dont care....!

Always watched Liverpool growing up when I could from a very younger age! My dads 2nd team in the 70s 80s when they had so many scots playing for them I just basicly adopted it off him! Don't have the same affection towards Liverpool as I do Celtic or that passion and never will... As your man says unless it affects us in anyway then I don't mind at all because ofcourse i would be more affected if Liverpool where to win against Celtic!

I seriously think if Liverpool stay the way they are and develop
A better te they will challenge for that title I've predicted 3 years time.... That's IF they develop as I sayd and keep the players while adding! In my head I think financially they will never ever compete!

But hey money doesn't gaurentee success !!!'
