That 'Shere Willpower' banner at Arsenal is cringe worthy.

Rio Ferdinand gets a massive cheer when announced in team of year. Popular choice in room.

Rio: "the club have done well, we are enjoying the moment winning the league and we will enjoy the night.

Rio: "de Gea came from a different country, he is young and he has adapted. He made big saves and justifies his position"

Rio: "The reason RVP came to United was to win trophies.

Boos for Suarez when he is announced in team year.

3rd. Hazard. 2. Benteke. 1. Bale storms home in young player of the year.

More boos for Suarez when named as a nominee in POTY.

PFA player of the year: 1, Gareth Bale; 2, Luis Suarez; 3, Robin Van Persie

Just seen MOTD 2 and they were talking about Bosingwa smiling on his way down the tunnel. Yet in the clips before it Harry Redknapp is smiling and laughing with one of the Reading backroom staff.

So what`s the difference between Redknapp and Bosingwa doing the same thing???

Mystified as to why he`s held in such regard, like his previous clubs he`s tried to buy his way up the table. QPR fans will be hoping they don`t end up like Portsmouth.

The team of the year was a bit odd, Cazorla was correctly omitted but the inclusion of De Gea and Ferdinand is farcical.

Begovic and Nastasic should be there instead, but the awards clearly aren't based on merit.

Team of the year is what I'd have gone for except I'd have had Michu/Cazorla in for Hazard.

Good to see QPR go down yesterday. Hopefully the majority of their high earners stay with them and pocket their mega bucks. Cause that would absolutley cripple them. Can't be arsed with the teams like them, and the way they go about their business.

I could understand Michu, perhaps, but why Cazorla?

He does have 12 goals to Hazard's 9, but he also has 3 more appearances (35 vs 32), meaning that their goals per game ratios are roughly the same (0.34 vs 0.28)

In terms of assists Hazard is a long way ahead with 14 to Cazorla's 9, again, in less appearances.

Hazard is under a lot more direct pressure from opposition defenders, and draws a lot more fouls than Cazorla. This can be attributed to the roles that they play, with Cazorla being more withdrawn and Hazard more direct, but the fact remains that Cazorla has much more time and space on the ball.

You've also got to compare the ages of the players to contextualise their performances, both are newcomers to the league but Cazorla is a 28 year old at the peak of his powers whilst Hazard is a 22 year old youngster, making his statistics all the more impressive.

If you value goals more than creativity then Michu is a more suitable candidate than Hazard, but the team already has 2 strikers. In terms of their roles as creative, goal scoring midfielders, Hazard has statistically outperformed Cazorla in every department and is a younger player to boot.

If you believe that Ferdinand and De Gea merit inclusion, then please explain how their performances match up to the likes of Nastasic and Begovic. If the latter two played for Man United, they would no doubt be in the team of the year.

Why would a player who has played less than half of his sides games be in the Team Of The Year?

He's played in 20 EPL games for City. 6 less than Ferdinand.

    ???

Nastasic has made 20 appearances, pushing Lescott out of the team and becoming a starter at just 20 years of age. (19 for the bulk of the season, I believe his birthday was only last month)

Man City have four games left, if he starts all four that's 24/38, which is more than half, not less than half.

If he was English (think Phil Jones) he would be being hailed as the new Bobby Moore, or something silly like that, by the media.

    He's been fantastic.

Glad to see Nastastić doing well, haven't seen much from City this season. Also glad that I was wrong about him - I thought that at 19 he'd struggle big time. Chuffed that he is now a regular after rising above the pressure of price tag and expectations put on him at such young age.
