Not sure if that's how the Wrexham fans see it. Was having a look around one of their forums and they seem more sympathetic rather than anything else.

A mix of sympathy and * taking. I was meaning from the Cardiff fans point of view taking on the symbol, nickname and colours of a local rival. If we suddenly changed our badge to a thistle, decided we were nicknamed the jags and played in red and yellow we would be * livid while I'd imagine thistle fans would be in hysterics.

That's exactly the analogy that occurred to me.

But that's what happens when you sell your club to some Malaysian * who knows * all about the game, and * all about your traditions, and made his money toadying up to the ex-Prime Minister of Malaysia for kickbacks.

But to put football matters into proportion, here's what that eminent statesman had to say about jews:

"The Jews for example are not merely hook-nosed, but understand money instinctively."

“The Jews had always been a problem in European countries. They had to be confined to ghettoes and periodically massacred. But still they remained, they thrived and they held whole Governments to ransom...Even after their massacre by the Nazis of Germany, [Jews] survived to continue to be a source of even greater problems for the world...The Holocaust failed as a final solution.”

Destroying a football club's history is small potatoes to these evil *.

Back on topic - I'd be absolutely raging if I was a Cardiff fan - but I'm not so......

They should change it to leather and chains :icon_mrgreen:

I wouldn't expect the Cardiff fans to stand for this. It's shallow and hollow that the colour has been changed to red due to a desire to increase the club's brand in Asia.

Just fly blue flags and scarfs and parents don't buy their kids the red kits.

I like the "red dragons" idea.

Cardiff have no history anyways.... sure Blue is for Huns, Red is the colour of Wales, maybe now they'll be the pride of Wales.

    I like this idea.

It'd be different if they were actually a big club...

The kit and badge is nicer anyway. Are they painting the stadium?

I can see both sides really.

It's another step towards money and another step away from tradition and history. It's not something I'd like to see Celtic do, imagine swapping the hoops.

Then again, Cardiff need the money and the money that this change will bring in could break their bad luck in the Championship.

It would be a big no from me as a supporter but I can see the reasoning.

I think changing club colours is a brilliant idea. Here's a suggestion for The New Huns 2012 Ltd strip :-

Or hump them entirely if the fans don't buy into it. Cardiff don't exactly have a huge number of supporters in the world and if just a chunk of them refused to buy anything to do with the change then it could really scupper the whole plan.

It seems like a very risky strategy to me.
