Id take him, he's similar to Fortune and Fortune would still be here if he was signed for free. Good hard working player who could work well with Samaras/Hooper/Stokes.

Not for me. 24 in 117 for Wigan isn't a good return at all. We're looking for someone who can come into the team on a rotation basis and score about 15+ goals a season at minimum. I wouldn't trust Rodallega to be consist enough for that.

Yer man Perbet is where it's at.

Fortune has only scored 9 Premiership goals in 58 games, and in 45 games for us scored 12 goals and got 13 assists.

Rodallegas record is twice as good so you'd think he could get 15-20 a season.

Remember he's playing in the Premiership, there are no John Terry's, Rio Ferdinand's or even John O'Sheas, Richard Dunne's and Phil Jagielkas in the SPL.

Some of the recent best SPL goalscorers like Stokes and Kenny Miller barely averaged about 1 goal in 9 games in the Premiership.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always felt that Rodallega is one of these frustrating players who is talented enough but not consistent enough. Like a flashy Samaras. Would he be reliable enough to step up and score consistently when Hooper or Stokes aren't playing well?

The Premier League might be a more talented competiton all round, but that doesn't mean that every player in it is particularly good. We've been stung by the Championship using that same logic.

    Spot on! :50:

He is basically a Sameras with less ability in the air.

1 goal every 5 games for a relegation battling team every year in the Premier league isn't bad at all. Steven Fletcher only has 1 ever 3 games. Kevin Davies has a rate of 1 goal every 5 games too.

Aswell as that, Rodellega isn't an out and out striker. He's a tricky kind of player and plays out wide every now and then.

I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Don't see it happening though. I heard rumours of this in January (word of mouth, nothing more) and posted on another site and got pelters for it. Supposedly Arsenal were very interested last summer and offered £9M for him and it got knocked back.

Good player. Can't see him coming to the SPL however.

One thing's for sure, we won't be the only interested party.

Stunned Wigan have let him go actually. What was the reasoning for that?

He didn't want to sign a new deal there, so they had a choice between selling him in January or keeping him for the last 6 months of the season but losing him for free, and they just let his contract run down. Similar situation to hoilett at Blackburn

He wants to leave and his contract has ran out.
