Spain should walk it but I think 2nd could go to anyone. Cant remember the last time I saw Italy and thought they were good. Think Ireland have a decent shout. Hope they do it

I've got a sneaky feeling about Ireland, Czech and Italy are beatable. Italy aren't half the team they used to be. And if anyone knows the Italian style of football and how to beat it, it's Trap.

the score flattered russia had buffon stayed on and chiellini been playing those 3 goals would never have happened. the italians looked very dangerous and if ireland try and play a high line against them they will be caught out and completely hammered balotelli and pirlo looked awesome if mario keeps the head he will have a very good tournament imo and I'm tipping him to finish top goal scorer

Italy weren't great at all. They never really threatened Russia apart from a dragged shot wide by Pirlo in the 2nd half and a first time shot by Balotelli in the 1st. Russia on the other hand hit the post in the first half, amde Buffon pull off a couple of saves and a Russian midfielder (can't mind who) ballooned a shot over the bar when he really should have scored. You need to score goals to win matches though and that's exactly what Russia did against Italy. With all this match fixing scandals and all that going on in Italy coupled with their poor football at the moment I can't see them getting out of their group.

Only 1 of Russia's 3 goals was the keeper's fault too. At the end of the day, they were hammered 3-0 by Russia and they were beaten 2-0 by ireland the last time they met. They are ultimately beatable.

No chance ireland will finish bottom, I'm confident of that.

People are looking at Ireland on paper and ruling them out. Sure we have the worst team player for player in the group, but our playing style is unmatched. It suits this tournament, where two results can send you through. We are more than capable of beating Croatia, and in our last three meetings we haven't lost to Italy. That's not luck.

And Spain? Well if there's one team in International football I would say could take a point from the Spanish, its us. Our playing style completely cancels out theirs, and on any given day we could escape with a 0-0.

There seems to be a lot of respect for Italy in this thread, which I'm not sure is warranted. They're not the team they used to be, and I certainly don't see them going through.

It'll be between ourselves and Croatia for 2nd place behind Spain.

My thoughts exactly. Croatia are a bigger threat than Italy.
