Or just put an Anti Virus Prog on the one you have and save yourself a fortune in buying an over priced computer

that over priced computer has lasted me for 6 years and will last me for another 6.

thats the problem with pc's they are just open to virus's and trojan's.
so what i paid a bit more for my computer to prevent that and also to prevent my system from getting screwed and losing all the stuff on it

I don't have any viruses on my 4 year old PC. Even after downloading several hundred GB of stuff.

On mines it says West Yorkshire police and your computer has been locked, stating I have to pay a fine as it states I have supposedly been involved in terrorist plans and looking at * of minors. The trouble is on Safe Mode, I can't connect to the internet, so can't download any anti-malware. Any advcie anyone?

Aye, phone West Yorkshire police and once they confirm it is nothing to do with them run in safe mode with networking and scan it. Do you really not have an anti virus btw?

It keeps taking me back to the black page with the choices :56:

Not on the computer that is infected.

It is a spare one and Wifey decided she would download some movies and programmes for the child.

    Thicko.

Do you know much about computers mate (I'm limited at best myself)? But you can remove it from the registry and that should give you time to install an anti virus and clean it.

You could also try a system restore.

This link might help, hope it does.

I got slapped with this virus last year, luckily though I've got my pc set with two hard drives, a fat one that stores everything and a small one that just runs windows off it so it's no problem to reformat that clean and do a fresh install if it gets humped and not have to worry about losing files.

Best way to set yourself up imo, no anti-virus software is 100%, learned the hard way a few years ago on an old pc, lost everything, music, films, years worth of photos, well *.

    Hi there Cowtipping

Are you still having these problems? I fixed a laptop with the same virus not that long ago. If I remember correctly, it's like a full screen flash and no obvious way to get rid of it. (I think this is what i done anyway, off top of head)

Press CTRL ALT DEL to enter the task manager
depending on your flavour of windows you'll see processes/applications

Go to applications, select the application running and end process. This should allow you to access the desktop. If not, try and take a screenshot of the task manager processes and we'll take from there.

Menawhile on another computer, download free version Malwarebytes
http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and put it on a memory stick (cd would be better, reduce any chance of mem stick being infected - it shouldn't though)

Can you get onto safe mode with networking? And is the thing your wife was using a desktop programme or website?

I was just watching some ermmm, * orientated movies and it popped up - I thought I was about to be raided by the Po Po!

Quick search and I found it was a virus I quit out the screen quickly and virus scanned - no problem since.
