How much more do you need?

Dallas and his anti Catholic emails, sacked employees testifying of anti Irish canteen culture within the SFA...

I shouldn't have to give you any more examples because the two you mentioned are two too many

Hoopers goal was debatable at best, debatable.

No one on here has ever had a problem with debatable.

Debatable decisions go for us and against us every * game!!!

It's the blatant in your face pish that seems to happen to us every * big game!!!

I can't believe I have to justify this to fellow Celtic fans, everyone and I mean everyone I spoke to or overheard leaving the game today, not to mention the 25,000 i heard going * tonto at the time is even entertaining this pish that we don't get cheated.

    Only on here...

I reckon it's something like this. It's the same in every work place, people toe the line, get in with the people at the top in order to advance their own career. When the head of referees was someone like Hugh Dallas up until not that long ago that's only going to mean you get people sucking up to him and thus continues the cycle.

I do think a lot of this is because they hate Lennon. Again because he talked back to a lot of referees during his playing career and I'd imagine also because he and McBride managed to show them up as incompetent when they tried to ban him for half the season last year.

It happens all over the planet I'm sure, you need to kiss some * to get ahead such is life.

It just so happens we live in a country where the top jobs always went to the folk from the right background...

Although it isn't as blatant as it used to be is beside the point. It is still there, bubbling under the surface, that is why some folk are blind to it these days.

It's not kosher to be open about it any more, it's not the done thing to be so blasé about it so it festers under the surface but it is still there.

I can't even begin to imagine what it was like in the 60s and 70s but I seen enough in the 90s and the present to know it still exists in less establishment organisations than the SFA.

You win some you lose some eh?..Thats it Timmy, toe the media influenced propaganda brainwashing line!

So, do you think the ref was right to give a ball to hand decision against Celtic, but not give a penalty to us for the exact same thing a minute later?

If its facts you want to deal in then try explain that one?

    A tired argument.

We lost against the huns in the cup final last season, did a significant amount of people blame the ref? No. Izaguirre got sent off. No complaints about that.
We lost against Caley last season to throw away the league, did a significant amount of people blame the ref? No.
We lost against St. Johnstone at home this season, did a significant amount of people blame the ref? No.
We lost against the diet huns at the first game at Tynecastle this season, did a significant amount of people blame the ref? No. Commons got sent off. No complaints about that.
We lost against the huns in the 1st game at Ibrox this season, did a significant amount of people blame the ref? No. Mulgrew sent off. No complaints about that.

Point being, we have lost plenty games where we have played badly and not used the referee as an excuse, but not only that, we have lost games where we have had people sent off and not blamed the ref.

We've now lost 3 in the last 4 weeks, one of which featured a hugely contentious sending off and an incident where both the Celtic and Rangers player should have been off but only the Celtic player was. I should add that I am certain we would have lost that match had it remained 11 vs 11, we didn't turn up. The other two however, hinged on last minute penalty decisions, that would have completely altered the final result. That is pretty undeniable. There isn't enough time for other circumstances to kick in within that small time frame.

This whole "Celtic should have played better" argument also does my nut in, it seems like some people think that every team who wins a game of football has to have played well. In particular we're talking semi finals and finals here. I don't recall many outstanding, dominating performances (Barcelona aside) in the tense, narrow affairs that semi finals and finals often are, yet people throw that line in there all the time like somehow natural justice has prevailed, we played rubbish so we're out.

Errm..didnt the ref call for a foul in Celtics half whilst the ball was half way down Rangers's half? Half our players were in Rangers's half when the ref let Rangers take the free kick quickly resulting in Jelavic scoring the winner?? I dont think we ever did find out exactly why he gave that foul in the first place!

EDIT; Just realised I used the word half quite alot there but I hope you grasped what I was saying :56:

The problem with this argument is that people at the game see things from all types of angles and many will be so caught up in the emotion of the match that they might not see something a man standing a few metres away can see. Especially if it results in a last minute penalty against their team.

When you go home you get to think about things, watch the highlights and form a more considered opinion. As one such person I have watched the replays and seen that for the penalty the ball did strike Wanyama's hand. NO I do not think it should have been a penalty but I can now see what the referee saw and he chose to give it. That does not make him corrupt or a cheat. Neither does that mean he is anti-Celtic or anti-Neil Lennon. He is simply not very good, although I am certain that most of us would be similarly lousy in such situations, especially without the aid of television replays which WORLD (not Scottish) authorities continue to deny them.

Personally I am more concerned that once again we have lost and players and manager alike seem more concerned with condemning a solitary action by one man, rather than considering the failures of eleven of the highest paid and most talented players in Scotland. Ledley has mentioned the Black tackle but few seem to question the failure to send off one of our boys for the last man tackle. Similarly they condemn the ref but fail to understand we were only level a few minutes from the end courtesy of the linesman missing an offside, albeit a very narrow one.

What about the offside goal we were awarded dont see you harping on about that .......................

Seriously some of our supporters need to see a psychologist or something because this is getting out of control.

The standard of refereeing is * TERRIBLE in not just in the SPL look at what's happened in the last week in the EPL also! Football is always going to have controversy even more whilst cameras are there. Super slow-mo replays show loads more than the naked aye. Im not sticking up for the refs because they are genuinely * but they get a split second to make up their minds the armchair supporter gets hours of replays from every angle.

Hooper was not offside, the scum penalty incident was ball to hand and ours was exactly the same.

One given one not, same old same old.

    Tasty soup oh yes...

Every week on MOTD whenever the losing manager is interviewed, he always seems to find a way of bringing up some free kick or shy that went the "wrong way", which led to the opening goal, or the second crucial goal.....or the third decisive goal!

I didnt hear too much complaining when we went on an unbeaten run of 260 matches! Then we get a few bad results, and hey presto......its an agenda again!Very tiring.

It has become a culture for our fan to complain. As others have said, when it happens to the smaller teams, it is completely ignored, but when it is us,,,,,its a conspiracy!Maybe over the years we have had fewer decisions than "another team", but we have not had fewer decisions than the also rans..........NO CHANCE!

Alex Ferguson never tires of complaining about decisions or refs inadequacies, but ask any other team which team gets more decisions and which team would come top?I think you all know.

don't see you in here much MGM, it's good to see you.

what's your point? You seem to be backing Lenny up in a roundabout way.

Fergie moans all the time even it isn't merited, yet I don't see him demonised by his own supporters, the media and the whole world?

how do you work that out?

Maybe you can tell me in 6 months when you pop your head in again :icon_mrgreen:

To me, If anything, Hoopers knee was offside which was only shown by a slowed down replay, something I'm very surprised we got away with judging by some of the offside decisions we've had against us..Hooper v Rangers 27th of december? Stokes v Rangers at Ibrox a few weeks back is just a couple of examples..If what youre saying is true that the refs are terrible, then why dont we ever see major decisions go against Rangers that cost them winning a game? Can you give me any examples of this happening? And dont be coming back with an over the line "goal" they should have got at Celtic Park because only an inconclusive super slowed down replay may suggest that.

I have read all the posts, but didnt feel like latching on to one point of view or another just for the sake making posts.....but i was obviously doing a lot of head shaking and a bit of nodding whilst reading them!
When it gets late, a point is more likely to be considered, and not swallowed up in the multitude of opinions when everyone is emotional.

I support him, but i would like him to be more discreet.I dont want to demonise NL for complaining, but id like him to stop playing into the hands of those who "conspire" against us.

I do think we have had reason to complain in the past, but i also think we are over-reacting to anything that goes against us these days, whilst the smaller teams still get it in the neck on a weekly basis......against all the bigger teams! Not just Scotland, as some would have us believe.

I like Lennon, but he is genuinely doing no-one any favours with such reactions. As i asked in another thread, what did he have to gain by such a reaction? What did we have to gain? What did the team have to gain?It wasnt completely over the top or anything, but given his previous, real or imaginary, it was pointless and ultimately will have a negative outcome for us, him and the team.

For the record, as much as i was gutted by the result, if someone asked me at the start of the season if i would take a league win and a losing final and a losing semi.....id have bitten their hand off. However, i have to say also, that as ever when 2 non OF teams reach a final, i am genuinely pleased for them, and as an Edinburgh resident, i think it is a fantastic thing for both Edinburgh clubs.Cant wait to watch the final....the build up in Edinburgh will be surreal!

ahhh you're a clever lad, i take my hat off to you.

you must have a deadly amount of splinters in yer * though with the amount of fence sitting you do :84:

You take on every opinion going in every post, it's quite the feat.

The final will indeed be interesting, if for nothing else than it proves we don't need the inbred web footed mutants that the Scottish media is so fond of telling us we need...

totally fed up with it now

we have won championships and cups plenty of times

do i think there are some incompetent officials ? yes!!! do i think there are some cheating officials ? Maybe some yes

but all through our history we have had to overcome this

whats changed ??? what makes NL or anyone else think that shouting and screaming and moaning and throwing hissyfits is gonna change this

it's like that cartoon from the 70's "calamero" it's an injustice he used to say

    lifes like that ffs

am starting to think NL is got a screw loose if he doesn't understand this

It seems a lot of people would be happier if we all just shut the * up and let the SFA walk over us. Some were coming out with this sort of stuff before the hard facts were on the table about the SFA and we put a good few of they corrupt * to the sword.

They obviously haven't quite got the message and Neil Lennon will keep shouting until they do and rightly so. This is not a Celtic squad or board you are going to get to walk over and ultimately cheat. We are a different animal with Neil Lennon in charge and the board are following suit, we are not the Celtic of old. We won't put up with dishonesty.

Not every thread obviously, only the post mortems!

Well i may appear to be fence sitting by not coming down hard on one side or the other, but the truth is i do think we have had more bad calls than "them" over the years.....but not by much, however i do also think the smaller clubs have had a raw deal when it comes to games against us, which generally gets swept under the carpet.

Re-NL.Personally, i wish he would get off the internet and be more discreet generally. He is a bright guy and talks a lot of sense most of the time, but he is definitely prone to letting his emotions get the better of him, which is why i would like him to count to 10 before going public......whether on the pitch or on the internet.Just my feelings.
