Not doubting he kept us in it in games, but as you agree Boruc is and was simply a class above, we regularly talk about the back line having confidence in their keeper and im not 100% certain our defence then had that sure confidence in Douglas.

 

Agreed, although I don't think having Boruc/Forster wouldn't have made a massive difference that year. The final was unlucky.

 

Napoli have never played wingers... Wingbacks - Maggio, Zuniga and Dossena can all play full back and defend equally as attack, none comparable to McGeady

 

This with Petrov for Lennon depending on who we were playing.

That would be my team as well.

 

Some people are either too young or too niave to disregard players like Thompson, Lambert and Lennon. You cannot play a 3-5-2 with guys like McGeady and Nakamura out wide, it just wouldn't work. The Seville team plus an on form Boruc is the best we could possibily come up with out of the pool of players we can choose from.

 

Seviile team plus Boruc. Maybe Sutton as a CB ahead of Valgaeren to get Hartson in up front too.

 

It has to be the Seville team with Boruc in goals... although maybe switch petrov for Moracvik (tough decision!)
