Commons is better than Ki in quite a few aspects but I have to say there is one thing in particular that Ki is better than any other player at, except maybe Joe Ledley - making himself available for a pass.

He always offers a good option for the player in possession (obviously within reason) and it's one of the things that I think he really offers the team. IMO you can see it when he plays that when we are being pressured by the other team we don't panick and hump it up the pitch, losing possession because Ki makes himself available in space for a sure pass.

I don't get this he's a 'softie' thing. Out of all the players in our team the most horrendous tackling that has been done has been Ki. He just doesn't know how to track runs and his positioning defensively isn't all that good.

Spot on.I can't remember Ki ever bossing a Ranger's game, I think this is a myth that has been developed by the Pro Ki Camp. What I can remember is Ki hiding in every Ranger's game I have seen him play.

What about the myths created by your gang of anti-Ki's then Dr.V?, such as can't tackle - which he can(thats been blown out of proportion), he is lazy - is he *, covers as much ground as most players in the team.

He seems to get blamed for losing his man when for example the aluko goal against us i seem to remember aluko skinning mulgrew and the other cb so i cannot see for the life of me how you could blame Ki for that one, he was nowhere near the play.

Hes scared of a challenge which i think is why hes poor in rangers games as theyre always physical. Its just a mental thing. Its like someone from the milton playing against someone from bearsden youd put ure money on one of them to be the tougher of the two and win a challenege. Hes a softie. A big reason why i just cant see him doing well in the spl full of ian blacks and lee mcullochs

They are very close in terms of technical ability. Ki shades it for me in the passing cathegory, while Commons is a better dribbler.

One reason I thought of for Ki's defensive weaknesses, is that back in Korea, he might've been paired with a dedicated bruiser who did all the dirty work. Here, they obviously don't know about the saying: 'master of all is a master of none.'

    Spot on.

That was his best game against the huns that day without a doubt, but that speaks volumes about his other performances against them more than anything.

For someone so apparently talented, near enough every single one of his CM counterparts have outshone him on the derby stage.

I don't think the hammer throwing contest that is the OF should be the barometer for measuring a technical central midfielder's level of ability.

There are plenty of players far more gifted than any of our central mids who would toil on the battlefield that is the OF.

Spot on. When he does go in for a tackle, it ends up wildly. Because of his bad positioning and inability to time them right. If I could ask Lennon something, it is about the instructions he gives Ki regarding the defensive part. Does he tell him to go all out, or maybe quite the opposite- to offer only minimal defensive contribution?

Celtic players are always going to be judged a lot on what they do in the derby. It's by far the biggest domestic game we play so it's inevitable.

They are meaningless if we win most of the other games. Strachan won titles while losing many OF-s, especially in his first 2 seasons. It is not Ki's fault that we employ radically different strategies when playing Rangers at home as opposed to Ibrox clashes.

He didn't say that, games against rangers constitute a maximum of 12 possible points, there are 34 other games in the season, all of them together are important when winning titles, he is saying you can win all 4 old firm games but still lose the title.

:56:you can't be serious, anyone with eyes in their head can see he is incredibly lazy. He does cover ground to get forward occassionally but his tracking back and general workrate off the ball are dreadful.

That is nonsense. I could allow an argument that claims his defensive reading of the game - ie not picking up runners - isn't great. But saying that's down to pure laziness is a crock.

I never said it was completely down to laziness but that is a key component. Its a combination of awful defensive awareness, lack of pace, and near total lack of effort that make him such a defensive liability.

True. Barcelona had the better of RM in El Clasicos, but Real will be winning the league. Ki's contribution in the initial portions of the season enabled us to win other games. Even if he sometimes underperformed in OF-s.

Cannot take you seriously when you keep making this crap up, he could improve his awareness and tracking back, but lack of pace? Defensive liability, put down the crack pipe.
