He never done anything to write home about but he never put a foot wrong either. Held up the ball well enough and his passing was fine as compared to others today.

If Crosas thought he was gonna get regular football with us, he'd probably walk all the way back from Mexico.

This about sums Ki up for me, didnt do much right and didnt do much wrong. As with the majority of games he plays was just a shirt on the pitch. McCourt came on and was instantly more effective. In fact, if Ki had played the two passes that Paddy did to Cha, then there are fans who would have a statue of him erected outside Celtic Park. Such is the misplaced adoration he seems to generate.

Ki is an example of the sort of mediocre player that we are now expected to accept as good enough for Celtic. In my opinion, he isnt now, and will never be.

Lets put it this way. If Ki wasn't good enough for Celtic, Lennon wouldn't be playing him.

If Brown, Kayal and possibly Forrest were all fit and this wasnt such a meaningless game then Ki wouldnt have started.

With a full squad Lennon wouldnt pick him. With Tony Watt doing so well today, I hope we are going to show a bit more faith in our own promising youngsters with potential, rather than buying foreign players who fail to live up to their potential.

Suggesting we have Crosas back is nuts. Nice guy, loves the Tic blah blah blah. He wasnt good enough when he was here and thats why he didnt get kept.

It's the same reason that people look back at players like Big Mick, Donati etc. They simply weren't good enough when they played here, but people forget about the bad stuff over time.

edit: incidentally I liked both Donati and Crosas but they're just not as good as Ki.

Couldn't agree more, some seem to think Ki's technical ability is * like but the reality is that he just doesn't show it often enough. I'm not the biggest fan of Paddy but he isn't afraid to go for the spectacular, a quality necessary in a passing playmaker.

Paddy came on and immediately lost the ball and nearly granted them a goalscoring oppurtunity.

It took him 10-15 minutes to get into the game.

Even with the other variables it is very damning, the fact we only win around 60% of the time when Ki plays is simply dreadful. I havent got the time to do the math but I'd bet you any money that percentage is the worst of any midfielder at the club.

Ki's two most succesfull spells in a Celtic jersey has came at a time when we were suffering our most serious injuries.

Same here mcourt is by far the better option. I really hope lennon realises this. I personally want mcourt to stay. The passes etc he played today wer great. Ki couldnt play those passes but if he did people would be throwing their knickers at him. Hes not good enough to play in the first team i dont know why people are so adamant hes our best midfielder etc.

You could be right but I think that angle is a little overplayed by Ki's supporters, basically when Ki has played we have had injuries in our midfield which have allowed him to get into the team but our defence/strikers have generally been the same. When Ki has been played it has usually been due to an injury to Kayal/Ledley. The winning percentage without ki from last year basically amounts to a Kayal/Ledley partnership in central midfield whereas the winning percentage with Ki in the team is mainly Ki/Ledley but also some Ki/Kayal. Imo the stats show that the Ledley/Kayal partnership is the best when all players are fit. Obviously Ki hasn't really had to much of a chance to play with Kayal but I doon't think the numbers would be to different because Kayal and Ledley are similar in style and ability imo. Obviously other variables must be considered but the stats are still damning.
