So basically what you are saying is that a professional footballer, who is paid to score goals, has decided that we would have a better chance to score from 12 yards out with a keeper in the way than a 2 yard tap in with the keeper out of the game? That is what you are suggesting that it is Stokes' mentality to cheat his opponents, the ref, his team mates and his supporters rather than taking the glory of equalising in a cup final in the last minute. It makes me wonder how the guy has ever scored a goal from open play in the past if that theory is correct.

We had more possession, more shots, more shots on target, more corners and their keeper was MOM. Yet we deserved to lose:87:

    Was a definite penalty.

Although I think we should have got one on Hooper earlier on in the match as well. Clear push in the back in the box.

Both would always be given outside the box.

Even taking out what many of our fans feel about Collum you have to wonder how many times its going to take before this guy is axed from big games. His major mistake record is dreadful.

Totally agree. I'll be honest - I'd be happy if Thomson got every big game, cup finals, Celtic v Rangers etc - by far the best referee in the country, not much of an accolade right enough.

He has been a lot better the last couple of years to be fair to him.

The Gifs on here dont see it properly ..Im no good at these things but look at the tackle from behind and it clearly shows Stokesys Right foot being clipped

Indeed - also the only referee with balls to own up to mistakes and apologise for them.

seen it again and still believe its a pen, when you're bursting through like that it only takes a slight touch to put you off balance

we certainly didn't deserve the chance to equalize given how crap we were but a foul's a foul whether its in the box or not

i think Stokes furious reaction was evidence enough for me, never seen a player so angry at getting booked for an alleged dive, looked like bell was holding him away from collum

but in the end its no excuse as to why we couldn't score in the previous 92 minutes, i'm still flabbergasted at that one hooper missed!

Yeah I'm surprised that the huns and the media (and some of our "fans") have not picked up on that. If Bell never got in the way he would have lamped him I think.

I think it was a definite penalty, what gives it away is the players reactions, the Kilmarnock player gets up and turns to the ref right away thinking its a penalty and Stokes goes absolutley mental when it doesnt get given.

Like other have said though, its not one im raging about as it wasnt the best of games wether we'd won it or not, disappointing to lose a Cup final though but we had plenty of chances to score and didnt take any of them.

I was screaming on him to lamp him one :52:

Can't stand Willie Collum, knowing him from being a teacher at my school he was an arrogant wee * who couldn't handle a classroom never mind a football pitch.

That angle is about as conclusive as you can get. Never a penalty.

Its not really tbf. The contact from that angle is obscured. The gif that Sean put up is beyond reproach.

Ironically I thought Collum had a good game until the penalty incident! Seems like he just needs to hog some of the limelight

Stokes' right foot is momentarily caught between the defenders legs, how can you not see that?

It's in the gif you posted and it's right here in the still.

I hate Collum, he gives too many freekicks for nothing but sometimes doesnt, he has no consistancy plus he gave a goalkick to Kilmarnock for a clear corner to us even though the linseman gave the corner :97:
