Forrest :56: Assists against * Motherwell and St Mirren. Always bothered me when people described him as "creative". Head down, sprint to the byline, chip it in and hope for the best. How creative.

He's had 15 appearances this season, some of them no doubt from the bench and most when coming back from injury.

Also, he hardly ever hits the byliine these days.

It's got to be tactical, he used to hit the byline a lot of the time.

Certainly seems like Ronny is trying to get him to use other facets of his game rather than his pace all the time. Maybe going full pelt too much aggrivates his injuries.

That being said, he has to mix it up a bit more.

Wasn't just under Ronny mate, done it with Lenny as well. I always thought it's because we have nobody who can header the ball in the box anyway and some of Forrest's link up play with Hooper and Stokes was * excellent.

Just looks like he's lost his way now though.

Been a lot more creative than Lustig though.

Matthews has won the right back spot for me, Lustig needs to earn it back.

In the few games lustig has played hes been far better and has contributed ,considering hes played so few games.
Still no question for whos number 1 when both fit.

Abysmal record from a completely ineffective player. LOS PUNTO.

Why do people feel the need to rate a player as either excellent or *.. Never any middle ground.

The fact of the matter is, Forrest is a very useful player at the very least when fully fit. I know he's rarely fit these days, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he's a good footballer.

But still hasn't contributed as much going forward. I love big Lustig but nobody should be guaranteed a place in the team. It's Matthews position just now, it's up to Lustig to out perform him.

Matthews is one of the biggest attacking threats in our team just now, you don't just drop that because a player comes back from injury.

I agree. He's not deserving of a starting slot at the minute but there are far more players we should get rid of first. The likes of Forrest, Stokes and Mulgrew may not be in the first 11 but they give us great strength in depth. Something a team like Celtic needs, and something we've lacked over the years.

Get rid of Tonev, Derk, Pukki, Balde, etc long before Forrest

He hasn't had as many chances to contribute and when he has hes been good.
I wouldn't be worried though * put matthews out when he comes back from injury because of the squad rotation that will be needed in the next few weeks.

He hasn't had as many chances to contribute because he's not as good as Matthews going forward.

No because hes been injured, even if at that then lustig is a better defender, player and leader .

Lustig should be rotated with Denayer and tried at CB?

I agree Mathews better going forward, Lustig decent too and a better defender. Great to have options if only we had the same depth of the left.

Long Passes are included in the total passes but gave them their own section too.

Never included the keeper but i'd guess he made about 5 passes and 2 saves.

Some European stats. Let's start with the King:

    Henrik Larsson
35 goals in 56 games. Sensational.

    Georgios Samaras
    13 goals in 45 games.

    Chris Sutton
    16 goals in 44 games.

    Alan Thompson
    8 goals in 38 games

    Gary Hooper
    7 goals in 19 games

    ------------------

    And then...

    James Forrest
    3 goals in 33 games

    Anthony Stokes
    2 goals in 26 games

    * *. Unfair to compare them with the best? Okay, here's some "duds" compared to them:

    Teemu Pukki
    2 goals in 9 games

    Mark Burchill
    3 goals in 5 games

    Harald Brattbakk
    4 goals in 9 games

    Simon Donnelly
    2 goals in 8 games

Stokes and Forrest are truly two of the poorest attackers we have played in European competition. Get them TAE.

I'd give anything to see another Henrik in a Celtic strip.

    What's Lubo's European record, btw?
