    He left him to his own devices, no help to settle in at all. It's in his book.

    Apparently he was that lonely until Martin came in that he was putting shifts in the burger van outside the stadium because it was a Bulgarian guy that owned it

    John Barnes was a * but he was unlucky. Look at that team (full-strength) he could have had and the subs aswell - so much depth.

    Still a * - Scheidt is a shocking blunder tbh. £5m+ for a defender from Brazil playing in SCOTLAND! * me gently.

    Could have a better return than 14 goals and 10 assists from his 40 games this season.

    Only lately has he started putting the performances in, there was about a 4-5 month period mid-way through our CL campaign until January time where he just wasn't scoring or assisting.

    He went from late September to mid January in the Scottish Premiership (12 games) where he scored 2 goals and assisted 1. Wasn't having a good time of it at all. That's why his record isn't what it could've been this season, those bad 4/5 months he had.

    Not the greatest run, to be sure, but it wasn't that bad.

    Also, the season isn't over ... can't we judge his total on-pitch performances until the end of the season?

    I think you'll find it won't be as bad as might think.
