Now we understand Fergus. Now we get it.

You came and saved us. Built us a stadium. Stopped ten in a row. You left us only after showing the remaining board how to run the club successfully. To not play with the safety of the Club.

Even without their demise, the current situation in our club in these uncertain times is quite simply astonishing. They resources and players is quite an achievement. The sustainability we planned out.

With their demise, it's simply another reminder that McCann was right all along. Prudent figures first, or the games a bogey.

Does anyone still hold the wee grudge they had, for the penny pinching he did?

never held a grudge, * a was to young to remember what he did in most of his time here but as a got older and learned the history of our club a soon realized exactly what the wee man did and how much we as supporters are in his gratitude and imo the wee man deserves a statue along side jinky, jock and brother walfrid because what he did for our club simply can't be put into words

Will never ever hear a word said against him from me.

He is the reason we are where we are today. He put his money where his mouth was when we were on our * and made unpopular decisions for the good of the club.

    Legend.

Without Fergus we would not be here to enjoy the celebrations today. Yes those days were hard ones being a Celtic supporter and he had his critics but it was clear he was taking the club forward the only way possible.

Fergus left behind a legacy that will live on forever and if I was ever to meet the man I'd gladly buy him a pint and a jelly and ice cream supper. :50:

Given that he likely wears wallies at his age that might be fitting :56::56::56::56:

I wonder what he's thinking today

I hold nothing against Fergus McCann. Just Lawwell for not busting the huns sooner.

hearing people on twitter want him to come over and unfurl the flag when we win the league, we should do everything we can to make this happen

The day he was booed in Celtic Park was an absolute disgrace and an embarrassment. I would like to think inviting him over to unfurl the league flag WHEN we win the league this year would be a sort of apology.

Said this maybe prematurely about a year ago but if we win the league this year l would love him to be invited over to take part in raising the flag at the beginning of next season as payback for when he was booed.

l always liked him even though l probably did'nt always agree with him and he did'nt let anyone mess with him especially Jim "*" Farry and the SFA.

Never held a grudge for the wee man ... He came in and put his money where his mouth was and delivered on every promise fact.

He sorted out the 3 amigos (good as they were) nobody is bigger than our club.

They should have a statue of Fergus outside the stadium to honour him...

    * Bless ye wee man :50:

I'll be honest. I'm old enough to remember the penny pinching days and it was pure pish.

But, now I see the bigger picture and have a new found respect for him. He's a Celtic Hero. A club treasure and a man who should adorn the pages of every celtic history book.

I back the sentiments for wee Fergus to raise the flag.

No matter how much i would love to see this happening i just cant help feeling that some if not allot of people would be hypocrites if it did, the same people that booed and jeered him, now the filth are sinking want him to come and rub their noses in it. I think its a bit disrespectful to Fergus using him as a tool to get another one over them.

I for one always saw him as a saviour like many but others nah should have been ashamed at the time.

Was too young to remember what he did for us, but the bottom line is he saved our club and without him Celtic wouldn't be here today.

was too young to remember or understand what was going on at Celtic park but i still loved going to Parkhead and watching the games.

if you know your history...this guy did something for us that Whyte couldn't do for Rangers.
