Georgios Samaras

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by donnegal celt, Jul 17, 2011.

    Samaras was good under Mowbray.

  1. He's never really recaptured the form that he showed in his first season under Strachan though. Without some of the goals he scored in the 2007/08 run in, I don't think we would have won the league.

  2. So what? If he turns brilliant now we get rid because of his past?

  3. I also remember Samaras coming on for Robson in the 2-1 game and he was excellent.

  4. I love Sammy.

Putting the ball back on the spot (probably because of his nightmares against the Huns last year :54:)

Still love Sammy though and I think he gives us a unique attacking presence on the left side.

  5. Back to his mediocre best yesterday.

  6. Just saw the clip of the Wanyama goal. Despite the crucial timing etc & the delirium of all the fans & most of his team mates, did anyone else notice Sammy?

Check it out - right at the start of this clip

    Very Strange.

  7. Aye he never really seems to celebrate anyone elses goals, its a bit weird.

  8. Hardly does himself any favours, does he?

  9. He rarely celebrates his own goals either. He's probably in shock and can't believe he's actually scored.

  10. He eventually reaches the celebration just behind Ki - He's just lazy and can't be bothered running over

  11. he was just knackered after running around like a headless chicken for 70 mins

  12. His passion for Celtic has never been in question, in my opinion.

  13. Well done to Samaras, Forster and himself put the hearts player off a bit before he took the penalty:50:

  14. Agreed. You wouldn't blame anyone for thinking otherwise though, even after his pen against the scum he hardly celebrated.

  15. I don't want to be a killjoy but I can't agree with this. If Celtic got a penalty at Ibrox and Rangers players made the same sort of carry on that Samaras made yesterday, and Celtic missed the penalty, I would be * raging.

I'm glad Hearts missed the penalty but that sort of gamesmanship does nothing for me.

  16. Indeed, he doesn't show it in the best ways mate.

Anyone that's ever heard him talk about Celtic would be in no doubt of his love for Celtic.

Risked a booking cuddling into the supporters after his first goal in the game you mention though.

You would be raging because it could put our player off and that's what it could have done yesterday. Something he maybe shouldn't have done but I think you could be the only Celtic supporter that wasn't a little bit happy that he done that. Especially after the save.

  17. Best run of form I can remember from Samaras since 08-09. Long may it continue.

  18. I was happy about the save, no question, but I'm not a fan of gamesmanship like that. Maybe I'm too much of an idealist.

  19. Your posts are starting to really annoy me now. Im not Sammy or Browns biggest fans but cant stand when they are playing well (sammy) you still want to have a go get behind the team and stop this 4 in a row nonsense.
