Georgios Samaras

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by donnegal celt, Jul 17, 2011.

  1. Well said.

  2. The anti anti-Samaras brigade are becoming laughable. He came on and made a * of a number of things, he is not immune to criticism.

Should be sold in January for the sake of his and everyone elses sanity.

  3. With the vigorous defence that this guy gets from some people, it's astonishing the mediocracy to utter * that they accept as being good enough for our team.

the thing with sammy is we all know he can play up there with the best of them. BUT can celtic keep a player with all that talent who only turns it on once or twice a season. 'A GREEK CRISIS IN THE EURO-ZONE ? WE'VE GOT A GREEK CRISIS IN THE PARKHEAD-ZONE' :31:

  4. People defend him because others will jump on him whether he's played good bad or average.

He's getting jumped on here as if he's the reason for the result today when in reality, Hooper and Bangura failed to create much anything up front. Sure, Bangura can dribble well, but he misplayed quite a few passes. Hooper's first touch can be utterly hit or miss and he failed to release the ball a few times where there were players in better positions than he was.

    BUT

People praise those two and jump straight to this thread to slag one of our subs for the result.

  5. Exactly there seems to be several players that your not allowed to criticise. But your ridiculed if you don't slate Sammy,

  7. Seriously Danny, you telling me when watching tonight, when Sammy made that awful pass in middle of the field to Bangura, and then the laughable attempt of a pass to Hopper in the box, you didn't let out a groan? Or were you, unlucky Sammy, sure you'll come good one day, in a different month, in a different year, on a different planet?:icon_mrgreen:

  8. Lol Laughable pass? That sums everything up really. There was nothing wrong with that pass, hooper completely * it up and, what do you know, it's Sammys fault.

Of course towards the end of the game when the whole team took their foot off the gas and Sammy made a bad pass, it was frustrating, but so were the many times hooper and Bangura * up. It was an unlucky draw, and that's it really.

  9. If anyone feels sorry for samaras theres something wrong with you ! celtic fan or not the guy is a disgrace and why lennon still decides to play him when stokes is on the bench, well that sums lennon up and his decisions as a manager

  10. I think the point is that yes, that was poor play and resulted in an inevitable groan, but others (not so much tonight, but regularly) do the same thing, and don't receive the level of criticism that Samaras does.

  11. I disagree there. It was a very poor pass from Samaras when a break was on. I support him, but I'm not going to deny blindly that sort of bad play.

  12. He's talking bout the run of play where sammy and hooper * a 1-2. Fact is, Sammy was under pressure and could have done better with it. But I don't see that as more of a sin than Hooper falling over Sammy's cutback or Bangura taking a poor touch when he could have had a run at goal earlier in the game. Each of those moments got a groan from me.

However I doubt you'll remember either of the other mistakes made by players who are not sammy.

  13. Sammy made 2 mistakes tonight and the fans go crazy
He also had a good run and cut back that nearly ended in a goal , Sammy is not a player I like but when the manager puts him on I get behind him 100%
    * Hun behaviour to boo and get on your own players back
Do you think this is going to help him?

  14. Yes laughable, because it should never have been a pass in the first place ffs, the pass wasn't on, he should've ran with it, you know, do the job he was brought on to do:56::50:

  15. I think we are talking about different passes lol, I was talking about the one where Ki ended up smashing the * out if the ball at the end of it.

The one your referring too yeh was frustrating, had he ran he would have only been pelted for not passing :56: I don't think that one incident was enough to be slating him for though.

  16. Yeh I was on about the other one lol exactly, I had a lot of groaning moments, and most of them were before Sammy warmed up!

  17. The fact Samaras is getting the usual level of heat, despite not affecting the game in a positive or negative way (in a short space of time) shows just what a scapegoat he's become.

For the record, I think he should leave and am not defending his ability *generally* - but people's logic baffles me.

  18. I honestly wouldn't even have samaras on the bench. He has * me off far too many times now with his fannying about and his don't give a * attitude. Lennon is only persisting with him because he gave him a new contract. That was one of the biggest mistakes Lennon's made.

  19. You see Danny, the only reason I can see for bringing Sammy on from managers point of view, and from the way the game was going at that time, was to hold up the ball, and run the corners, you know, run the clock down, ie. his feckin' job:celt_2:
