Maybe, maybe not. But I always think the hallmark of a good manager is to intuitively find the right position/positions for any player in his team or squad. The three players you mention are not stick ons for a variety of reasons I feel. Forrest is more a right winger, Commons is off the boil and dozen't have the pace to be a left midfielder IMO ( maybe he should be transfer listed ? ), and Ledley dozen't do it for me on the left wing.I think Samaras could be shoe horned into the left midfield, and he would give us some height ( and pace ) in midfield, as those other three players you mentioned are not giants.

Bangura has just arrived. This surely spells the end of either Maloney or Samaras' time at Celtic Park, preferably the latter. It's not a case of whether he wants to leave Glasgow or not. If the money comes calling, he'll be leaving just the same as every other modern football player.

He did have a lot more goals in him then you're right but most of them came as a result of that purple patch he had IIRC. One really good spell in front of goal once in over 3 years isn't good enough. His performances in Strachan's final 6 months were actually beyond dire.

    Villareal.

I thought we had learned a lesson from Balde bleeding us dry. Fell depressed now that samaras and prob brown will be here for another 3 years. Losers the both of them. Lennon`s the only man to blame for keeping them.

Commons transfer listed? You cant be serious please?

Shoe horn Sammy into left midfield? Er , no.

Commons has been off form for a few games. Sammy has been off form for 3 seasons, bar the one game against the Orcs.

The height and pace are a myth. He doesnt use either to any effect. I cant see him playing now that Bangura has signed. And why would we need giants playing wide midfield? We arent a basketball team.

samaras has decent movement and played well for 2 seasons under strachan ,i just feel under strachan we had a bit more route one approach which tended to give sammy more space to run into without being marked so heavily .
i think gunt is correct in that we play to much of a passing game allowing the opposition to defend in depth making it harder to score goals ,i also feel we have to work really hard for our goals in the spl at times which means we will struggle even more against decent euro teams.

The most frustrating player Ive ever seen. I was glad when he signed after the loan, then it was downhill. Never seen a player given so many chances. And considering Skippy JVOH and even Forutne were sold while he was at the club just adds to it.:38:

He shows glimpes, very rare occasions of class, but 99% of the time he is pure pish. He can't score, he runs down blind corners, he losses possion, he falls over with a gust of wind, he can't head the ball, for a big man he has no strength. Skippy held the ball up better and he is 5ft nothing. His hair gets in his eyes and he losses the ball. For a forward, he is a libality, he has and will lose game. He has no passion and thoughness.:triplomur:31:

How he got a new contract!! He should be brought around the back of Celtic Park to the Graveyard, told to dig a hole, then Whack!!! Who would take him?!!:86:

I'd love to see him sold to the Huns, he'd do a better job there helping us to win the league.:84:

Samaras has already shown he's woeful when playing for Celtic out on the left.

    Cheers :50:

And another thing, with Sammy cutting in from the left he would give us an additional goal threat, remember his goal at Ibrox came from Sammy sprinting in from the left

That way we could still play Stokes and Hooper together against Rangers, with Bangura coming off the bench in the second half.

My head dozen't button up the back :icon_mrgreen:

    Still here, he's just inconsistent.

Needs a support that will back him too, he's definitely a confidence player - his agent came out and stated that actually. Our crowd's idea of giving a player confidence and support seems to be insults.

Thats nonsense. By saying that you are suggesting the vast majority of the crowd who are fed up with his histrionics during matches are wrong? Or should just simply accept a player that is not good enough.Thats not the case. The crowd is fed up with having a player that just doesnt contribute enough. Sammy has had 3 seasons of inconsistency, during which we have given him more than enough backing. At what point does patience run out with a player? I have seen posts today suggesting that Commons should be transfer listed ahead of Sammy. I have no idea what kind of a hold he has over some people.

Keep hearing that he is a confidence player, well all players are confidence players. Perhaps if he actually started playing better he would get more in return from the crowd.

I have never booed any player at CP, regardless, but Sammy has just not given enough in return in the last 3 seasons. Never looks capable of scoring and was awarded a 3 year million pound + contract on the basis of two goals against the Orcs.

Seriously would be happy if he never pulled on a shirt again. Nice guy, blah blah blah, but not good enough imo and has had more than enough time.

Im not anti Sammy, im pro Celtic. I want players who are going to bring the title back to CP. Sammy isnt one of those players.

He's still there he just runs around alot and momentarily gets really * excited about having the ball in the final third and then boots it at a particularly threatening ceiling tile in the main stand.

What happened to Sunderland pricing a 3 million deal.
Hearing different stories did samaras reject st ettiane or did they not match the valuation?
Can someone enlighten me on the situation?
Is some other team coming in for him , hope they do!

same old bollocks. every player is a confidence player / plays better if the crowd are behind him. samaras just isnt able to motivate himself when people are on his back.

people say he tries hard but does he *. he spends more time on his * playing with his hair than he does on his feet.
