    I think that's a leap in logic.

Don't get me wrong, Samaras isn't the best striker we have, but he's a good player to have in the squad. Quite simply he's better than those previous 3rd/4th strikers I listed (in my opinion)

Murphy offers more to the team than Sammy, sums it up really.

Don't think he's done anything to warrant that assessment

Heard Cha had a good game.

Also starting to wonder if people have an unrealistic expectation of Celtic's squad.

Should every winger be Kris Commons? Should every striker be scoring like Anthony Stokes at all times? Should every left-back play like Izzy and every midfielder like Kayal?

Samaras offers something totally different than Hooper. Hooper is very much like Kris Boyd in that he's more of penalty box style poacher. That's why Hooper was subbed during the game against ICT at the end of last season. If the game is not going your way then poachers like Boyd and Hooper don't offer much and it's better to get players like Sammy on who can get on the ball. Samaras drops deep and runs the channels which is handful for most teams.

Wasn't only Sammy that played badly on Thursday although, because he plays like that consistently (and I use the word consistently loosely), he's getting more stick than other players who we can say simply had a bad game. Stokes didn't do terribly out wide he was making runs but as people have already said - he's wasted out there especially if we're playing Sammy up front because it then means the big man has no one running off him at all...

Cha was the best player imo for his overlaps and the fact he beat their left back more times than not and got crosses in as well. Always got the feeling if we'd scored one in the first half we'd have got a proper grip on the game and made it a couple :50:

On another note, speaking of big, tall players who don't have a presence for their size and are consistently (again, using this in the loosest sense of the word) shown to be bombscares - Fraser Forster. Not sure what you all think of the guy but imo we still need a proper number 1; neither him or Zaluska are good enough for the job and imo Forsters clean sheet record last year flatters to deceive. For a 6 foot 7, well built goalkeeper he has next to no command of his box and I'm not just judging this on Thursdays game it was the same in majority of games last year when he was ever exposed. Very good reflexes and shot stopping but shocking presence in his own box.

Only game that sticks out as him performing well enough to affect the result was the St Johnstone game. :50:

Just to keep this on topic - someones already said this but imo we are * if Hoops and Stokesy get injured cause we cannot rely on Samaras (don't mind him being 3rd or 4th choice and only playing now and again) or Murphy for consistent goals :31:

We have no money for anyone worth bringing in at this stage but to say Samaras is an 'excellent' option is complete bollocks.

"We have been soft all season. We have got strikers who don't score goals, who don't want to go in there and get hurt.

sammy did get himself a knock going in for a chance where the keeper was clearly favored.
