Georgios Samaras

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by donnegal celt, Jul 17, 2011.

  1. Didn't Lenny single him out as one of the guys that needed to go after Ross County? He done nothing from then until the New Year's hun game to merit being a Celtic player so I wonder what changed Lenny's mind on the guy.

never seen the game, and don't know how he played.

but he seems to be the usual scapegoat.

  2. Pretty much, had a decent first half, bad second half, wasn't our worst player tonight but he'll get it in the neck more than anyone.

  3. This he played well won all his headers which no player got up in support Stokes never bothered his * No 1 supported him .

All down to the manager and his tactics could have had the best targetman in the world up there tonight without any support would have been the same result .

  4. It is blatenly obvious that Samaras cant play with anyone up front It has been seen before from previous games that Stokes or Hooper cant play with him and always play badly when they do. How lenny could take our best striker off instead of samaras is behond me which, Lenny has to be critised for.
How Lenny sees anything in Samaras is mind bogeling, and comes down to a bit of stuberness from Lennys part.

  5. don't talk *, stokes has played out there before and had good games he was poorer than samaras yet you want to pound sammi.

  6. Tbh i think it's down to a confidence thing, and I don't blame him for being low in confdence, he gets stick from his own fans.

Saturday definitley wouldn't have helped, as far as i know Sammy's here to play centre forward, our centre forward Hooper comes off, but shaun maloney, who's best position is NOT up front, comes on.

Then Stokes (I think it was) comes off, and McCourt is taken on,.....the man's confidence level must be zero.

  7. its the only explaination cause every time he plays, hes * *
Also samarse being unplayable on his day is * myth , i wish people would stop repeating this bullshit as its simply not true i have yet to see him unplayable and b4 someone mentions the huns game last year their keeper * up for the first and the second was a penalty , a new contract for a striker who cant score or pass *???

  8. i was at game and trust me the guys a * clown

  9. not got the footballing ability or the heart to play for celtic, at least murphy gives his all.

  10. He was absolutley horriible tonight. When he played on the left he was basically Sions right-back, he hadnt a clue how to move and let Mulgrew get past him or nothing, he just stood with the Sion defender 1 yard away from him wanting Mulgrew to pass to him closing up the whole left side. It was some differance when Maloney came on and actually played like a good wide/roaming player.

  11. wHich begs the question, why the * was he played on the left, when that's blatantly not his position?

  12. First half it was Samaras in the middle and Stokes wide left, then they switched in the second half.

They were both awful out wide.

Really don't know why we didn't even attempt to play them together as a normal front 2, tactics were just plain wrong.

  13. Please go. Just go. :31:

  14. The worst thing about sammy is that he makes his other striker look * because he is impossible to play upfront with. * Donkey. I despise him!

  15. Theres something about Sammy.. Hes an enigma...

  16. I could really let rip at Sammy but I'm going to say tactically we got it wrong with him.

We should have played someone up front with him. Stokes is wasted on the wing and when Sammy won headers there was no one from midfield gambling. In the 2nd half we stuck him out wide which was just a waste as Sion were sitting deep and he doesn't have good ability at getting the ball in.

  17. That is absolutely true.

Since Samaras has been at Celtic he has played up front with Scott McDonald, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, Marc-Antoine Fortune, Robbie Keane, Gary Hooper and Anthony Stokes. He hasn't struck up a partnership with any of them.

Our attacking play is totally disjointed when he's in the team.

  18. Ah, so let me get this straight,it's also Samaras' fault that his striking partner plays *?

  19. streak of * end of story
