Samaras isn't suited to any formation except upfront himself.

If McCourt, commons or Hooper took that penalty and missed no one would have went on about it like they have done with samaras. I am sick of him getting the blame all the time. It's all really annoying when players like McCourt get praised for doing things which samaras would get screamed at by "fans" For doing.

I would have fancied anyone of them to score before the big Greek.

Also he got all the praise in the world in the January game when he was being lauded as the next Marco van Basten, so when he missed that penalty (which I dont think he has had as much abuse as you suggest over) he can expect to be vilified. It goes with territory. He saw the chance of being a hero again, when he should have given the pen to Commons. Wasnt the actions of a team player , in my opinion.

exactly he is a very good player frustrating admitedly but he is one of my favourite players and imo we wouldn't have got near the title after his performance against the huns it got us going and after that all the players started to play well.... i will never forget the scottish cup final this year he was getting un-necessary abuse from our fans there was a woman behind me just started shouting get him off just because he slipped and when stokes came on he slipped about 4 times and no-one said a word

Samaras lost us the league. Fact.

There were other reasons, granted, but if he hadn't put that penalty where everyone in that stadium knew he would and let Commons take it we would have won the league.

I would have expected Commons to take it myself, but to be fair to Samaras it's not like he wrestled the ball away like a greedy * wanting to be the hero, don't remember anyone arguing to take it, it must have been decided before the game, and he does have a decent enough record scoring them.

Bit harsh mate. Was as disappointed as anyone else on the day but the game that lost us the league IMO was the total capitulation at ICT. The team had done all the hard work leading up to that point but blew it big time.

dont be * ridiculous conor! we can put down the loss of the league to the draws we had at home where we should have won! fact. we can also use the * effort at hamilton where we drew! fact! we and will certainly use the * up at inverness and thats a * fact. true sammy scored the penalty we would have won the lague! but he missed * happens. no way will i blame the ,man for that. its a team effort and the team let ourselves and themselves down with lackluster performances that iv mentioned another fact.

You could just as easily turn around and say "Samaras' performance at new year kept us in touching distance. Fact"

But obviously there's more to a season than one player and one game, and putting the word fact at the end of your statement doesn't make it more than just an opinion.

Not a fact at all, anyone who thinks Samaras single handedly lost us the league, need to get a grip...

if thats the case, then surely Paddy mccourt lost us the league when he chose to dive instead of shooting in the 95th minute v ICT, if he scored we'd have won the league....but i'd be stupid to pin the blame on McCourt..

a number of things lost us the league.... the penalty meant * all, as we were still in pole position.,

When we left ibrox the League was still in our hands, indeed if i remember correctly Lenny himself was not to disappointed with the result, forget about this obsession that Sammy cost us the league, it's over 38 games and the course of a season.

Rewind back to ICT, the team bottled it, all the good work that had been done to get into that position was thrown away because of inept defending, we win as a team but we also lose as a team.

Look, I'm not saying he's the only reason we lost the league or that he didnt contribute at all, even though he did very little outside of that one game. But if he hadn't missed that penalty we would have won the league. That's almost certain.

    Paddy didn't dive either.

His nickname at Man City was "Tragedy"

    As in The Greek Tragedy.

That's about all I will contribute in terms of slagging the guy off.

His footballing ABILITY makes him one of the best attacking options we have. His ATTITUDE on the park is severely lacking. This along with his frustrating runs make him very annoying to watch and 3 SPL goals a season is not good enough.

I think he doesn't understand where and when he's supposed to make runs, in other words he'd probably get 4/10 marks for having a footballing brain.

Other than that, he'd be a decent player.

Samaras' miss wasnt a huge thing, as the league was still in our hands...ultimately caley is where we lost it, as thats where we put it in Rangers' hands.

    Yes Paddy did dive
