Would be a good signing I reckon, would get a few goals but quite honestly I don't think we need him. No doubt he would be asking for 40k a week AT LEAST wages and although we only have two top class strikers I don't think it's a pressing issue to get another one in this January.

As the OP said, Lenny is building for the future and although we do of course need experience to benefit the young kids, I think we should be looking at our academy and top young European and world prospects like Ibrahim, rather than an old English forward.

The more i think of this guy he is basically Sutton and Hartson rolled into one!, he would be absolutely beastly up here!, also he has that hard but fair style that Sutton had which means he doesn't constantly get called for fouls when challenging in the air, would probably win us loads of free kicks around the box and provide loads of assists for hooper with his flick ons, * it i said i wasn't gonna get my hopes up aswell!! :icon_mrgreen:

always rated him and have always thought he could do a job in the hoops. age is worrying but i think he could be great for 18months.

he'll probably stay in the EPL but if there's a chance, i'd jump at it.

Lost a lot of mobility now but still decent enough to win headers and hold the ball and link play, would take him on loan but wouldnt sign him.

Take him for 18 months, reckon he'd relish the chance of Europe and trophies.

He has the experience and skills we are all screaming for but at 34 he will be looking for a decent wage and that could be the stumbling block if he is one of Lenny's targets.

I don't think goals goals goals are what Lenny has in mind tbh, looking for someone with aerial presence and link-up to work off Hoops or Stokes.

Also been playing at a lower end team too.

infact i take it back, maybe he would be good for experience but i don't think he's any better than hooper or stokes

We need competition. We can't afford better than Hoops/Stokes imo

Davies was decent for a few seasons and even got into some England squads, but now he's past his best. He's not a natural goalscorer, has no pace over short or long distances and looks a little(if not a lot) overweight these days. There are better players to be had, even with our lack of funds. He's not even a regular for Bolton anymore despite their limited options up front.

would take him no bother, think he has a year or two left in him.

Can't beleive he's been linked with the scum aswell . There's no way they could afford his wages :56:
