    Welcome to the lad.

I trust Lennon and John Park on this, so hopefully he'll turn out to be a success! I'll wait till I see him play for a few games before I form an opinion.

Note how every single player we've signed recently has commented on us fans. :50:

no point saying hes going to be terrible, no point saying hes going to be great. when he has played a few games in the hoops, then we can judge him. until then, we have to trust lenny and if he thinks he is worth a whirl, thats enough for me. Lets maybe give the guy our support and encouragement.

Even judging him on a few games would arguably be harsh, it happens often at a club like Celtic that players have a slightly dodgy start, the fans get on their backs, and from then on they falter away.

    Inevitable but.

I'm going to argue (and not for the first time so forgive me) that Murphy was the right idea. Our squad under Mowbray was desimated of players that played for the shirt and when Lennon took over it must have been as painfully apparent to him as it was to us that team spirit was in the toilet.

Wrong player perhaps but going out there and bringing in someone desperate to play for us was a good idea and under budget constraints who do you get?

El Kaddouri was a mistake yes, a bit of a panic loan clearly so I'm going to give Fojut more than the benefit of the doubt before I start question 'why?' and 'who?'

Yeah I would agree with that, I meant give him a chance to settle etc rather than 2 games or whatever. Personally, I think even if we get him now, we wont see much of him till next season, giving him plenty of time to get used to the club and level expected. best of luck to him.

He gave a short interview to polish newspaper when he was asked about money that he will earn here. I will try to translate: "When you get an offer from such a club like Celtic, you don't look at how much money you can earn there. You look at the dreams that come true when you sign a contract with such a club. From the moment that I have realised that Celtic is interested in me I knew that we will make it happen."

Just like Jezzz and MJ9 say, let's give him a chance:50:

I have more faith in us getting it right with transfers like this than spending big money on higher profile transfers. This has been the way of it for us throughout our history.

    Greetings from Wroclaw.

In all honesty, I'm more than confused by this signing. Fojut is nowhere near an international call-up as some journalists are claiming, neither is he "best in the air in Ekstraklasa" as quoted by cfciano1888. He's not event the best defender in his own team, in fact I'd rate him 3rd best, 2nd best when I'm gracious, and his numer of games played and minutes on the pitch reflect that. During his spell at Slask he's scored like 2 or 3 own goals in 50 games and went mightly close to adding some more due to poor decisions in the box and communication with goalie. On the plus side, he's athletic and still young for a defender, rarely out of position, keeps the defensive line well and... that's about that. Seriously, I have no idea what are Celtic thinking, I'm no football scout though.

Side note: Slask officials have already stated they won't banish him to reserves like they happened to do a couple of times before on such occasions, since (quote) "Fojut was fair to the club".

No disrespect to the views given by the members in Poland but there's every chance Jarek will settle in well with us and maybe our style of play will be better for him. Until such time as he's here and showed us what he can do I'll trust Lenny's judgement on which players we bring in. Afterall he's not done so bad this far with the virtually unknown players brought in these past couple of transfer windows.

Completely agree. But, anyway, I believe it is just our (Polish members) "duty" to inform other supporters that he is not any superstar in Poland and that talks about him going to play on euro2012 are nonsense. We just provide some real info about him as we have seen him play and know a bit about him. I believe it is fair from us to call it how we see it.
For the record, I'm not saying he will not succeed here. Actually, I hope he will become another "surprise" after the likes of Kayal and Izzy:50:

Not so sure about this one.

I wanted a CB in this window, that could start playing straight away. Someone we'd have to splash out on because he is proven quality, this sounds like a gamble to me.

Mulgrew and Maj were playing well before Maj's injury and Rogne has shown he is a quality young CB. I just don't buy all the 'we need a new CB' talk. Striker should be the priority.

Even if we lose on this gamble, we lose very little.
But still there is a chance for a big win if somehow he becomes quality here.

Maj doesn't fill me with confidence and Rogne is injury prone. I wouldn't be very confident with a partnership of Mulgrew & Maj if Rogne was to be out for a lengthy period.

We can probably still do it with our current CB's but getting quality in now would have been the best option, instead of gambling on a young CB that may go on to be a good player.
